Among them, Fukuoka University Affiliated Dahao High School has won two consecutive victories, and the Hong Kong Oriental Youth Team has achieved a good start.
All six participating teams have made their appearances
After defeating the Serbian Vizula Basketball Academy with a big score in the first game, the Fukuoka University affiliated Daiho High School team is also considered a favorite to win the championship in this tournament by the outside world. In the match against the Shanghai high school student team, they once again demonstrated tacit teamwork and won two consecutive victories with a score of 79-68, securing the first place in the group ahead of schedule.
The Shanghai high school student team, led by Shanghai basketball legend Zhang Wenqi, consists of the Shanghai Jiushi Men's Basketball Youth Team and high-quality campus basketball players, fully covering Shanghai's high-level youth basketball players. But in front of the strong Fukuoka Oho, they were unable to quickly enter the rhythm of the game.
After being adjusted and encouraged by head coach Zhang Wenqi in the midfield, the players unloaded their burdens and gave it a try. In the second half, the Shanghai high school student team united as one and showed strong fighting spirit. Sun Ziqi, Ding Jiarui and other players hit 3 consecutive points, helping the team to reach single digits at one point, showing the resilience and strength of this youth team. However, Fukuoka Daiho still withstood the impact with his stable performance and strong discipline, maintaining his leading advantage until the end.
After the game, Zhang Wenqi summarized the game as follows: "Due to the fact that these players come from the campus and various youth training teams, they were not well coordinated at the beginning and did not adapt well to the rhythm of the game. I encouraged them to take decisive actions and attack boldly, and later achieved good results. However, the defense problem still needs to be solved and improved."
Wang Qiyue, from Nanyang Model High School in the Shanghai High School Student Union, is a student who is about to enter the third year of high school. He said, "For our campus basketball students, it is rare to have the opportunity to compete and communicate with outstanding young basketball players from around the world up close. I will also cherish every training and competition opportunity here, constantly hone and improve."
In the second game, the Hong Kong Oriental Youth Team, which made its final appearance in this tournament, faced off against the Hsinchu Kwan Fu Senior High School team. Although their average height was not high, the Hong Kong Oriental Youth Team was almost on par with their opponents in total due to their active rebounding and team protection. With the support of rebounds, this Hong Kong Island Youth Army achieved a good start with a score of 84-74.
Despite Hsinchu Guangfu Senior High School's second defeat, Xie Mingjun, as the MVP of last season's HBL High School League Finals, still had a decisive performance, scoring the highest score of the game with 37 points.
At this point, all six participating teams have completed their appearances. On August 10th, 2023, the Shanghai Tomorrow Star Basketball Championship will be held in the final round of the group stage, with Hong Kong Oriental Youth Team vs Shanghai Sharks Elite Team, and Shanghai High School Student Union vs Serbia Vizula Basketball Academy. Exciting continues, don't miss it!

This is where we need to learn and improve."
Self owned brand, expanding the map of Shanghai sports events
Sports events are one of the core elements of Shanghai's construction as a globally renowned sports city. As a youth sports series event hosted by the Shanghai Municipal Sports Bureau, the Tomorrow's Star Series is a key independent brand series event developed by Shanghai during the 14th Five Year Plan period, covering three major sports: football, basketball, and volleyball. The Shanghai Tomorrow Star Basketball Championship made its debut this year, aiming to build a high-level platform to help young athletes accumulate experience, improve their abilities, broaden their horizons, and create a good basketball atmosphere for Shanghai.
In order to meet the needs of this high-level youth event, the organizing committee will arrange for all competitions to be held at the newly renovated Shanghai Sports Center. This "star venue", which witnesses the changes of the times and the countless glories of Chinese sports, will be revitalized through a newly created youth brand event.
