The 2023 China Coordinates · Shanghai Urban Directional Outdoor Challenge is expected to return on September 16th. At 10:00 am on August 21st, the pre registration will be launched on the "Registration" mini program.

The 2023 China Coordinates · Shanghai Urban Directional Outdoor Challenge has set up Xuhui as the main venue, with three sub venues: Yangpu, Lingang, and Pujiang Suburban Park Miracle Garden, covering nearly 10 routes and a scale of approximately 5000 people. With the theme of "sports+consumption", we connect numerous consumption elements such as culture, sports, tourism, environmental protection, and food in a city oriented way, supplemented by fashion trends, popular word-of-mouth, etc., empowering the consumption scene and city orientation in both directions, creating a new consumption scene through sports, and bringing a high-energy experience to participants. The organizing committee has prepared a grand post competition carnival for the participants, combining sports and trendy play.

This year's competition has ushered in a new upgrade. The brand IP character X Frog Etadus Frog of the "Chinese Coordinates" event has officially met with everyone. Its name is inspired by the X-axis and Y-axis of the coordinate axis, with a cute face, resilience, confidence, liveliness, and sunny personality attributes, which will better interpret the spirit of the coordinate "infinite connotation and infinite extension" event.

At its inception in 2011, the competition had a scale of only 350 participants, 1 route, and 7 markers. As the number of participants and cooperative markers increased year by year, by 2016, the competition had reached a scale of 37 theme routes, 200 markers per game, 20000 participants, and 100000 pre registrations. In June 2016, the Shanghai Mountaineering Outdoor Sports Association and the China Mountaineering Association teamed up to replicate and promote this event under the brand new name "China Coordinates" nationwide, quickly leading to a wave of "urban orientation fever". The innovative and unique competition content, unlimited fun challenges, and diverse urban landscapes attract hundreds of thousands of enthusiasts to participate in more than 30 cities.

In 2020, although the competition was affected by the epidemic, Shangdeng Association still developed a new competition model of "sports+commerce". The China Coordinate · Changyou Shanghai Series is a new experiential competition under the Chinese Coordinate brand, which integrates sports and commerce at a high frequency, creating a full scene competition experience of eating, drinking, playing, and having fun, allowing participants to enjoy practical preferential benefits.

This year is the thirteenth year of the competition. In December 2021, the Shanghai Sports Bureau released the "Shanghai Events" brand recognition system, announcing the first batch of 18 events that were recognized as "Shanghai Events" brand. The China Coordinate · Shanghai Urban Directional Outdoor Challenge was included in it, winning the "D" event; In 2022, it was rated as one of the sports industry demonstration projects in Shanghai.

There are more and more urban orienteering competitions, and as the pioneer, Shangdeng Association adheres to the concept of organizing competitions based on the experience of participants, always positioning urban orienteering competitions as sports events rather than entertainment games. The route design, point marker selection, and point marker execution of Chinese coordinate competitions are all completed by city directional route judges and city directional referees who have undergone professional training and obtained qualification certificates. From brand activities, visual design, technical support, safety assurance to event landing, all are the results of repeated deliberation by a dedicated team. The event keeps up with the trend and development of the times, and maximizes the enrichment and extension of "sports+".
