On June 12th, the signing and unveiling ceremony of the "National Gymnastics, Trampoline, and Artistic Gymnastics Youth Training Base" jointly established by the China Gymnastics Association, China Trampoline and Skills Association, and Shanghai Sport University was held at Shanghai Sport University. Olympic champions Teng Haibin, Dong Dong, and other guests as well as relevant personnel witnessed the event on site.
In order to promote the sustainable development of gymnastics, trampoline, and artistic gymnastics in China, strengthen the cultivation of reserve talents in gymnastics, trampoline, and artistic gymnastics, and reserve outstanding gymnastics talents for participating teams in the 2028 Los Angeles and subsequent Olympic Games, the China Gymnastics Association, China Trampoline and Technical Association, and Shanghai Sport University have collaborated to establish the "National Gymnastics, Trampoline, and Artistic Gymnastics Youth Training Base".
The training base will be operated by Shanghai Sport University under the leadership of the National Gymnastics Center. The National Gymnastics Center will provide comprehensive policy support for the training base, including athlete selection, coach and expert dispatch, athlete registration and participation, international competition exchange, etc., and strengthen guidance and supervision of the management of the training base, standardize the training, competition, and related commercial activities of athletes in the training base.
Shanghai Sport University will provide venues, equipment, accommodation, and other support for high-level youth training camps and national team transfers in gymnastics, trampoline, and artistic gymnastics. It will establish a coaching team that can meet the needs of high-level youth training in gymnastics, trampoline, and artistic gymnastics, and serve as the management body to manage the daily training of the sports team and register and participate in the competition of athletes.
The training base is located at the Xuhui Campus of Shanghai Sport University. Xuhui District hopes to expand the connection function of Xuhui District's second tier sports teams through cooperation and joint construction, and select outstanding gymnastics talents throughout the city; Further leverage the advantages of Xuhui's educational resources, cultivate high-quality and versatile gymnastics talents, and lay an effective support for the healthy development of Shanghai's gymnastics projects in the regional youth training and training system; Establish a linkage mechanism to promote effective communication, discussion, and practice of coach training concepts and techniques, and further enhance the overall strength of the Xuhui coach team.
The joint construction of the Youth Training Base by the China Gymnastics Association, China Trampoline and Skills Association, and Shanghai Sport University is a new attempt and exploration to deeply implement the strategy of building a strong sports country, enhance the comprehensive strength of competitive sports, enhance the ability to bring glory to the country, innovate the training of outstanding athletes and the formation of excellent sports teams, promote the further development of China's gymnastics industry, strengthen the training of reserve talents in gymnastics, trampoline, and artistic gymnastics projects, and further leverage the advantages of sports colleges in cultivating competitive sports talents and ensuring scientific and technological services.
