During the National Fitness Day and Sports Promotion Week, a series of themed activities carried out in Shanghai sparked a wave of sports culture. August is also the annual "Government Open Month" in Shanghai, and the Shanghai Sports Bureau carries out a series of "Government Open Day" activities with the theme of exploring the "secret realm" of sports training. As the first stop of the event, on August 10th, as part of the "Government Open Day" series of activities organized by the Shanghai Sports Bureau, "Walking into the Self Sword Center", 15 groups of representatives from citizen families came to the Chongming Sports Training Base in Shanghai to unveil the "mysterious veil" of competitive sports.

Next to the panoramic physical sand table at Chongming Sports Training Base, citizen representatives gained a preliminary understanding of the base's overview. The first phase of the Chongming Sports Training Base project covers a total area of nearly 560000 square meters, with a total construction area of nearly 200000 square meters. It includes 16 sports venues and venues, as well as supporting facilities such as badminton, table tennis, basketball, handball, baseball, softball, gymnastics, fencing, cycling, modern pentathlon, boxing, martial arts, etc.

The headquarters of Shanghai Sports Training Management Center is located at Chongming Sports Training Base. As a cradle for cultivating high-level athletes in Shanghai, the Sports Center has trained and delivered 17 Olympic champions and more than 200 world champions.

During the summer training period, athletes are sweating and working hard on the training ground, while citizen representatives come to the Heavy Sports Hall to immerse themselves in the style of the sports team. The Heavy Sports Hall is a large comprehensive training venue covering an area of 3500 square meters, integrating modern pentathlon, fencing, taekwondo, boxing, martial arts, and judo. Chen Haocong, the champion of the National Games and the head coach of Shanghai Men's Fencing, and Liu Xingyu, the champion of the National Games and the deputy coach of Shanghai Men's Fencing, exchanged and interacted with representatives from the citizens. Two celebrity coaches showcased the celebrity wall and vividly explained and demonstrated the rules of different types of fencing competitions. After the fencing experience, Olympic runner up and member of the International Pentathlon League Coach Committee, Cao Zhongrong, also participated in the interaction. Under the demonstration and guidance of Coach Cao, the citizens gained a preliminary understanding of modern pentathlon, a comprehensive competition consisting of five individual sports: equestrian, fencing, shooting, swimming, and running. They also experienced an exciting shooting activity, and the atmosphere on site was lively and lively.

Enjoying the same athlete style lunch paired with professional nutritionists at the athlete's restaurant, after a brief rest, citizen representatives continued to explore how technology can contribute to sports. In the rehabilitation laboratory of Shanghai Institute of Sports Science, the working principle and basic operation of hydrotherapy have made citizens exclaim their satisfaction. Physiological and biochemical laboratories, sports and nutrition laboratories, intelligent laboratories, special environment laboratories, and sleep laboratories provide citizens with a full sense of experience. During the visit, representatives of the citizens learned about various high-tech equipment, approached professional teams supporting the athletes, and felt the sweat and perseverance put in by the athletes after ten years of continuous training.

This week, the "Government Open Day" series of activities organized by the Municipal Sports Bureau will explore the "secret" of sports training. It will also lead citizens to visit the Shanghai Second Sports School, the Shanghai Athletic Sports Training Management Center Athletic Sports Center, and the Shanghai Science and Technology Sports Management Center, allowing more citizens to enter sports training venues, experience the passion of summer training and the charm of sports, and gain a deeper understanding of the summer training life of Shanghai athletes.
