Today, the 31st Chengdu Summer Universiade will officially kick off, with college students from 170 countries and regions gathering in Chengdu. According to the schedule, the Chengdu Universiade events are divided into 18 events, including archery, gymnastics, athletics, badminton, basketball, diving, fencing, volleyball, water polo, and martial arts. There are a total of 269 events, which will produce 269 gold medals. The track and field event will produce the most gold medals, with a total of 50 gold medals. August 6th will produce 46 gold medals, which is also the day with the highest number of gold medals produced during the competition.

July 29th is the first competition day after the opening ceremony, and the first gold medal of the Chengdu Universiade will be won in the martial arts event. The average age of the Chinese delegation athletes participating in the Chengdu Universiade is 22.9 years old.
