"Qijiale" will premiere on the Documentary Humanities Channel, a family documentary about ordinary families in Shanghai
Everyone is the director of life. The family documentary "Qijia Le", which centers on the extended family and tells the true story of an ordinary family in Shanghai, will premiere on the Documentary Humanities Channel at 21:00 on May 15, and will be launched simultaneously on BesTV IPTV, Internet TV, and cable TV.
This film is jointly produced by Jiang Weimin, a well-known media person in Shanghai, and the Documentary Center of Shanghai Radio and Television Station. Directed by Jiang Weimin, it records the nearly 100-year history of a large Shanghai family in oral form, condensing a century of warmth and memories of the times into a long video scroll.
In "Seven Family Music", the subjects are the seven siblings of director Jiang Weimin's mother, the Wang family. Through the personalized narration of seven elderly people with an average age of 77, the director skillfully interweaves the two main lines of family and era in the dual dimensions of time and space. Childhood, further education, work, marriage, demolition... each story of life details and house changes shows the ups and downs of Shanghai citizens' life, and also reflects the impact of the changes of the times on personal destiny.
As a family documentary, the basic information of the characters is extremely important, and the image creation of the characters is even more critical. When filming, Jiang Weimin strived to tell the story naturally and smoothly in every frame, while retaining the spontaneity and authenticity of the scene. The extensive use of Shanghai dialect not only makes the narrative full of authentic life, but also adds a cultural charm, as if leading the audience to experience the daily life of the Wang family.
The opening and ending of the documentary are also very distinctive. The director opens the film with a long shot of a family dinner during the Spring Festival. The seven elderly people introduce themselves one by one, which not only establishes the basic form of the oral history of the film, but also vividly depicts the personality and role of each family member. At the end, the director's grandfather personally made a photo album of "Seven Music" for the seven siblings, paired with just the right music, without the need for words, the emotions flowed and touched people's hearts.
During the trial screening, the documentary was recommended by Teng Junjie, Chen Danyan, Wang Jiren, Ying Qiming, Er Dongqiang, Li Lin, Wu Tiange and other Shanghai literary and art circles, and was praised as "a rare perspective, a rare reality, a rare uniqueness". Showing the richness of the life trends of ordinary Shanghai citizens in the great era" and so on. Writer and documentary director Chen Danyan said: "The director has many years of experience and vision in filming major social and historical events, but he uses this experience and vision to weave the mountains and rivers into the daily life of a family. This is extraordinary." Poet and writer South Korea Qiang said: "This is the family history of an ordinary Shanghainese family. Every Shanghainese can see their ancestors, the joys and sorrows of their relatives for more than half a century, and the living conditions of Shanghainese from cramped to spacious. Gotta see myself”.
Just as Jiang Weimin hoped, "Seven Family Stories" not only records the history of an ordinary family in Shanghai, but also reminds us that everyone is the creator of history, and the story of every family is worth remembering. No matter how times change and technology develops, family remains the eternal theme of human society.
