Since last year, Xujing Town has continued to carry out special rectification work on the safety of self built houses, focusing on various factors such as improving urban image, optimizing living environment, and satisfying the masses. Efforts have been made to interpret the important concept of "people's city", improve the quality of life and happiness index of the masses, and build a new pattern of high-quality urban governance.
In the previous stage of work, in response to the structural safety hazards in the special rectification of self built houses, Xujing Town commissioned a professional testing agency to conduct a comprehensive appraisal of the relevant houses found to have problems during the preliminary investigation according to the requirements of the superior department. A total of 110 houses in the town were identified as C-level structural safety hazards. The staff of the Comprehensive Renovation Office told the author, "Most of these houses involve the problem of 'covering', with situations such as damage to load-bearing structures and overloading, posing significant safety hazards. According to relevant regulations and renovation work requirements, it is necessary to demolish them first and then reinforce and repair the original houses. This process is both time-consuming and laborious, and has a significant impact on the daily lives of the people. Therefore, after the research and decision of the Party Committee and government, the policy of demolishing and expropriating points has been widely praised by the people."
Since the beginning of this year, Xujing Town has vigorously promoted the rectification work in accordance with the "one house, one plan". Relevant departments such as public security, urban management, comprehensive rectification office, and expropriation office have cooperated and linked with the villages involved. In the early stage, door-to-door notification letters were distributed, warning signs were posted, and residents were actively communicated to gain understanding and cooperation. In on-site work, on the one hand, the staff should educate the villagers about the necessity of relevant laws and regulations and rectification work; On the other hand, citing similar cases such as the "particularly serious self built house collapse accident in Changsha, Hunan" to educate and persuade residents; Combined with the existing housing resources in the resettlement bases of Panlong Xinyuan, Erlian Xinyuan, and Jingyue Yayuan, preferential policies were implemented for early resettlement, completely dispelling the concerns of the people. As of now, 109 households have completed the signing of contracts and personnel evacuation in accordance with the requirements of the district comprehensive renovation office. The town comprehensive renovation office has implemented hard isolation measures and hung warning signs on the corresponding houses. A dedicated person is responsible for daily inspections to ensure that no safety hazards or accidents occur.
