Citizens need to make phone calls in emergency situations in underground garages, but their phones have no signal; How to solve the "urgent and difficult" problem of residents' lives in the digital age, as they have purchased an intelligent connected car and drive into the garage without a signal, resulting in the inability of the intelligent charging station and in car multimedia to function properly? In early February this year, the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee and Government announced the "2023 Shanghai Municipal Civil Service Projects", which included the "Mobile Communication Network Coverage Project for Underground Garages in Residential Communities" as a civil service project. According to the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology, as of now, 1118 residential communities in the city have completed mobile communication coverage of underground parking lots. As of the end of July, Shanghai Unicom has opened 525 ground stop networks in target communities this year, with a target completion rate of 129%.

Full signal, satisfied citizens

Located on Guowei Road in Yangpu District, Shanghai, the underground garage has a total area of approximately 20000 square meters and nearly 300 parking spaces. Community owners have reported that once people and vehicles enter the underground garage, they will be in a state of "disconnection", which brings many inconveniences to life and travel. Recently, after the Shanghai Unicom community's ground stop network coverage team settled in and renovated, the experience of residents using mobile phones for communication and internet access in underground garages has been greatly improved. It is convenient to scan codes and use charging stations for charging, enhancing residents' sense of gain and happiness in the digital age. To solve the network coverage problem of the underground parking lot in the community, Shanghai Unicom actively communicated with the property and residents of the community. Through on-site inspections, a "customized" construction plan was developed for the parking lot. The construction method of "RRU+fiber optic repeater+small board" was used to achieve full coverage of the ground stop signal, and the acceptance was completed and connected to the network within a week. After on-site testing, the coverage rate of good signal in the underground space of the community is 99.6%, and the perception is good. The transition from "loss of connection to underground warehouses" to "full signal capacity" is a microcosm of Shanghai Unicom's practical work in the field of underground suspension for the people.

Due to the different structures of each community and basement, as well as the different distribution and power supply conditions of information sources, it is often not possible to use the same set of solutions as a whole to solve the problem. Shanghai Unicom conducts specialized analysis and evaluation based on a four dimensional and ten class signal coverage evaluation model, focusing on user perception and coverage quality. Combining the different structural conditions of each ground stop, it solves the problem of ground stop signals through multiple means such as "one area, one case, one library, one case". By adopting various construction modes such as RF single output access distribution system, "handheld base station", digital micro distribution, and digital room division, the construction of ground stop communities is promoted according to the scene. Provide full coverage of fixed network, mobile network, and ground parking for communities that meet construction conditions, and form construction plan guidelines to further improve the standardization, standardization, and refinement level of engineering construction, achieve early landing of practical projects for the people, and benefit the people early, and effectively provide "useful, affordable, and well used" information and communication services for the people.

Shanghai Unicom actively cooperates with Shanghai Telecom to carry out the network construction and sharing work of "power connection and ground stop". On the basis of fully sharing the information infrastructure resources of both parties, communication equipment is shared once opened, providing undifferentiated network services for Unicom and telecom users at the same time. Cooperating with Internet of Vehicles applications such as code scanning payment, remote start, charging, and mobile Internet applications such as WeChat and web pages, it quickly and effectively solves the problem of no network signal coverage in community residents' underground garages.

For a long time, Shanghai Unicom has been working hard to solve the "long-standing problem" of difficult coverage of underground parking scenes. As of now, it has completed the opening of nearly 1900 underground parking network coverage.
