Shanghai has become the city with the most winning companies in the world's WIPO Global Awards, and specialized, refined, and innovative enterprises have won awards again in China | Global | Enterprises
On July 11th, the second World Intellectual Property Organization Global Awards ceremony was held in Geneva, Switzerland. Shanghai Xijing Technology Co., Ltd., a national specialized and innovative "little giant" enterprise, has won the World Intellectual Property Organization Global Award for Outstanding Enterprises. Shanghai has also become the only city in China to have won the WIPO Global Award for Outstanding Enterprises for two consecutive years.
Last year's first WIPO Global Award was won by 5 companies from 272 declared companies in 62 countries, and 2 Chinese companies won the trophy, ranking first among participating countries. In the shortlist for this year's WIPO Global Awards, 6 companies from China were shortlisted, including 3 companies from Shanghai, namely Shanghai Xijing Information Technology Co., Ltd., Shanghai Sazhi Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., and Shanghai Chaogao Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd. Two companies have won the Global Award Excellence Award. China has become the country with the highest number of shortlisted companies and the highest number of ultimate winners for two consecutive years in the WIPO Global Awards.
The WIPO Global Award is a global award program launched by the World Intellectual Property Organization, which is the highest award in the field of intellectual property worldwide. It aims to recognize small and medium-sized enterprises that have made positive contributions to domestic and international economic, social, and cultural progress through the use of intellectual property. The achievements of Shanghai's specialized, refined, and innovative "little giant" enterprises fully reflect the solid steps taken by the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology and the Shanghai Intellectual Property Bureau in promoting enterprise innovation and development in recent years. Significant achievements have been made in cultivating high-quality small and medium-sized enterprises and strengthening their intellectual property work. At the same time, it highlights the leading role of specialized, refined, and innovative "little giant" enterprises in innovative development.
The Shanghai Small and Medium sized Enterprise Development Service Center continues to support the innovative development of intellectual property rights for small and medium-sized enterprises. Following last year's promotion of the first WIPO Global Award for specialized, refined, and innovative "little giant" enterprises in this city, this year it continues to actively organize and hold WIPO application exchange meetings for specialized, refined, and innovative enterprises, vigorously promoting and encouraging enterprise applications. Relying on the "Shanghai Enterprise Service Cloud" platform, the center has accumulated 3255 intellectual property policies and released 1176 intellectual property service products. In collaboration with the Shanghai Intellectual Property Center, the center has organized an advanced research class on innovation capabilities of specialized, refined, and new "Little Giant" enterprises, helping 50 specialized, refined, and new "Little Giant" enterprises, including Xijing Technology, to strengthen their independent intellectual property innovation capabilities; The center also carries out point-to-point diagnosis of the intellectual property rights of "Little Giant" enterprises, providing comprehensive diagnosis for 207 specialized, refined, and new "Little Giant" enterprises. It leads intellectual property experts to conduct in-depth point-to-point diagnosis and issue diagnostic reports, helping "specialized, refined, and new" enterprises achieve high-quality development of intellectual property rights.
The winning enterprise, Xijing Technology, was established in 2015. In 2017, it became a participant in the first Shanghai Key Cultivated Entrepreneurship Founder Training Course. In 2020, it was awarded the title of Shanghai Specialized, Refined, and New Enterprise. In 2021, it was awarded the title of "Little Giant" Enterprise for Specialized, Refined, and New. With its unique application scenario understanding ability, it has developed multi scenario intelligent and green solutions for the bulk logistics field, and established a strong network for patent, industrial product appearance design, and trademark independent intellectual property rights protection. It has also developed WellOcean for seaports and Qomalo for independent new energy commercial vehicles, serving more than 160 customers in 18 countries and regions.
