Bai Yinhui, member of the Standing Committee of the Menghai County Committee and Executive Deputy County Mayor, introduced that the certified area and product quantity of Pu erh tea organic tea in the whole county have steadily ranked first at the county level in the province. In 2022, the tax revenue of refined tea processing industry accounted for 70% of the province and 97% of Xishuangbanna Prefecture. Pu erh tea's output value, tax revenue, brand, and craftsmanship are all the top at the county level in the country.

Menghai has 15 famous mountains and villages that have been protected by geographical indications, including Naka, Baotang, Nannuo, Hekai, Bangpen, Laobanzhang, and Laomane.
