D7 Chengdu Auto Show Debut SAIC Roewe Accelerates the Implementation of New Energy Strategy
At the recently opened Chengdu Auto Show, SAIC Roewe's mid to high end pure electric and super hybrid sedans, the Roewe D7 EV and D7 DMH, made their debut with both models, and simultaneously released the Yunsu cockpit and Zebra intelligent driving system. As the first model under SAIC Roewe's new energy strategy and the pioneering work of the "D family", the D7 starts Roewe's new journey in the new energy track with a pure electric and hybrid dual drive system.
Building new brand recognition
In terms of appearance, the D7 twin cars adopt a design language of "technological elegance and aesthetics", which is different from the design of existing Roewe series products and gives a brand recognition. Specifically, the D7 EV adopts a closed front face design, with a more concise overall design. The slender shape of the lamp group makes the visual effect more elegant. On the other hand, the D7 DMH has significant differences from the EV model in terms of front face, adopting an integrated headlight design. The front grille adopts an extended design element of left and right expansion and upper and lower support, making the overall visual appearance of the vehicle more spacious.
The dual front face design composed of D7 EV and D7 DMH meets the diverse aesthetic needs of users nowadays. Compared to the D7 EV catering to the preference of pure electric consumers for a minimalist and ultimate appearance, the D7 DMH is more in line with the preferences of hybrid consumers who pursue modern mainstream aesthetics. In terms of the rear of the car, the design of the two cars is round, wide and thick, full and full of tension. The slender tail light design, combined with the slightly upturned ducktail design at the edge of the trunk, adds elegance.
In terms of body size, the Roewe D7 EV has a body size of 4890mm x 1872mm x 1510mm, while the Roewe D7 DMH has a body size of 4890mm x 1890mm x 1510mm. The wheelbase length is 2810mm, and the hidden door handles used by the D7 EV are relatively more technological and in line with the positioning of the EV model.
And the long-awaited interior has also been unveiled at this auto show. The official has named this interior design "Yunsu Cabin", which also gives a sense of comfort and comfort, as if being in the clouds. Complementing the exterior design, the interior also emphasizes technological elegance, with an overall wrap around design. The horizontal features unfold from the center of the dashboard and run through the entire cabin, enhancing the visual width inside the car.
The adoption of a gear shift design is also a choice for many new energy vehicle models today, which not only facilitates driving operations but also frees up larger storage space. The central control screen adopts a dual 12.3-inch ultra long LCD screen and Xinghe Deco design. The most commonly used air conditioning control buttons are independent physical buttons, without blindly pursuing minimalism, providing convenience for users to use.
The interior color scheme is also a major highlight. The design of the all-new earth color scheme is more warm, and the interior is decorated with walnut wood, which is more luxurious compared to the enamel decoration of most models in the same price range. As a seat closely related to driving comfort, the Roewe D7 utilizes a lot of ergonomics, with a U-shaped design that is as comfortable as a cloud hug. The length of the front seat cushion reaches 380mm, which is the longest in its class. In terms of configuration, the front seats are heated, the driver's seat is ventilated, and the 10 way adjustment is complete. At the same time, it also has a one click recline function, which can effectively support a length of nearly 1.7 meters when unfolded, meeting your leisure needs. The width of the rear headrests reaches 280mm, thanks to its ultra long wheelbase of 2810mm, the rear space is as wide as a square. Large area suede material is also used in high-frequency touch areas such as car doors, and advanced designs such as stitching technology and same color stitching are matched.
The first application of Rubik's cube batteries
The D7 EV offers two new Rubik's cube batteries, which apply zero ignition technology. The lying battery cells can withstand the rigorous test of double needle four batteries, preventing "unburned" problems and also have the highest battery energy density in the same class. The corresponding CLTC comprehensive range is 510km and 610km, respectively. The D7's VGA six in one electric drive has a maximum power of 155kW and a maximum torque of 310N · m, accelerating from 0 to 100 kilometers in just 6.5 seconds. The D7 DMH plug-in hybrid version can achieve a pure electric range of 125km under CLTC conditions, and a range of 1400km under full fuel and electric conditions. The fuel consumption is 4.3L per 100 kilometers, and there is no need to replenish energy when driving from Beijing to Shanghai.
In terms of intelligence, the D7's fully upgraded Zebra Intelligent Driving System has multiple functions such as one language multiple meanings, automatic planning for long-distance charging, and seamless flow of handcart navigation, making the car experience as smooth and convenient as a mobile phone. The D7 EV and D7 DMH launched by SAIC Roewe this time have a unique sense of technology and elegance in their design, and the two front face designs meet the needs of different consumer groups. The dual line battle will better help Roewe accelerate its capture of the mid to high end pure electric hybrid dual track. According to the plan, the D7 twin cars will be launched within the year.
The arrival of the D7 officially marks the beginning of Roewe's new energy journey, and the appearance of the interior has once again raised attention. The overall design of the Yunsu cockpit is currently considered the most luxurious among the Roewe family models, and the large space can meet the driving needs of Chinese people. The two power options also make consumer choices more flexible. In the next three years, Roewe will gradually launch eight heavyweight new energy models, including the D7 EV and D7 DMH, covering various body forms such as sedans, SUVs, MPVs, etc., covering mainstream segmented markets from compact, medium to medium to large.
