June 10th of this year is the 18th Chinese Cultural and Natural Heritage Day, and the theme of this year's activities is "Cultural Relics Protection and Utilization and Cultural Confidence and Self Strengthening". In order to better showcase the value of various cultural relics in the region and promote the integration of regional cultural and tourism resources, the Huangpu District Cultural and Tourism Bureau held the "Let Cultural Relics Come to Life - Archaeological Huangpu Ring" 2023 China Cultural and Natural Heritage Day Huangpu District Main Event on that day.

Although Huangpu District is the smallest area in Shanghai, the number of immovable cultural relics in the area accounts for nearly one sixth of the city, with the highest distribution density in the city. Revitalizing cultural heritage and inheriting excellent traditional culture are important goals for the development of cultural tourism in Huangpu District. In recent years, over 90% of immovable cultural relics in Huangpu District have been covered with "building readable" QR codes, and there are nearly 20 themed Shanghai style urban archaeological routes connecting scattered cultural relics and buildings, outlining hidden historical rings. With the advancement of the "Shanghai style urban archaeology" project, Huangpu District has launched three conceptual routes under the theme of "Archaeological Huangpu annual rings": "Following books to archaeology - faith in the heart, strength under the feet", "Following paintings to archaeology - exploring Shanghai's modern and contemporary art and cultural belt", and "Following city walls to archaeology - entering the old city walls of Ming Dynasty aristocrats". The Huangpu District Cultural and Tourism Bureau has proposed the concept of "Archaeological Huangpu Ring", aiming to use culture to shape tourism and tourism to showcase culture. By promoting the "Shanghai style urban archaeology" activity, it promotes the deep integration of culture and tourism development.

Li Jing, director of the Cultural Relics Protection and Management Department of the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, said that cultural heritage is not only a "good book in architecture", but also a "essence reader" of Shanghai history. After years of cultivation, Shanghai's "Architecture Readability" has evolved from the 1.0 version of "Scan Code Reading" to the 2.0 version of "Architecture Openness", and now to the 3.0 version of "Digital Transformation", vividly interpreting the new urban life concept of "Architecture Readability, Street Strolling, and City Warmth". "Readability of architecture" has not only become an opportunity for people to enter the history of cities and touch the imprint of urban culture, but also a vivid practice of the important concept of "people's city, people's building, people's city for the people" in the protection and inheritance of urban context.
