Continuing to lead SAIC Group and ranking 84th in the 2023 Fortune Global 500 Technology Innovation | User | Leading SAIC Group
Fortune magazine released the 2023 Fortune Global 500 ranking on August 2, Beijing time. SAIC Group ranked 84th on the Fortune Global 500 with a consolidated revenue of $110.6 billion in 2022, continuing to lead among Chinese automotive companies and ranking in the top ten among global automotive companies. In 2004, SAIC Group was first listed in the Fortune Global 500, and in 2014, it was first listed in the top 100. It has been consistently ranked in the top 100 for 10 consecutive years.
In 2022, SAIC made efforts to overcome the combined impact of many unexpected factors and achieved a wholesale sales of 5.303 million vehicles, maintaining the first place in China for 17 consecutive years, and becoming the first automotive group in China to sell "double million" new energy vehicles and overseas markets annually. Since the beginning of this year, SAIC has continued to maintain its leading position in vehicle sales, while actively targeting new electric intelligence tracks and international operations, further accelerating its transformation and development pace. In the first half of the year, the domestic brand MG sold 115000 vehicles in Europe, a year-on-year increase of 143%, with new energy accounting for over 50%. From January to July, SAIC New Energy Vehicles sold a total of 463000 vehicles, ranking second among Chinese automakers; The cumulative overseas sales reached 630000 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 31.6%.
In the face of profound changes in the automotive industry, SAIC actively aims to "create safe, efficient, convenient, comfortable, and enjoyable travel experiences for users", and fully promotes transformation and innovation with a self revolutionary spirit, accelerating towards the new track of electric intelligent networking. In April this year, SAIC Motor Corporation (SAIC) released the "Three Year Action Plan for the Development of New Energy Vehicles": by 2025, SAIC's annual sales of new energy vehicles will reach 3.5 million units, an increase of 2.5 times from 2022, and a compound annual growth rate of 50%. Among them, domestic brands will account for 70% of the overall sales of new energy vehicles; Basically complete the transition of development momentum between new and old tracks.
At present, SAIC has launched the first pure electric exclusive series platform in the Chinese automotive industry - "SAIC Xingyun", with the highest level of technology in the world. It can derive different levels of pure electric exclusive architecture, covering the global market of compact cars, mid size cars, medium to large size cars, luxury cars and sedans, sports cars, SUVs, MPVs and other multi-level and multi type vehicle products. On this basis, SAIC will further focus on technological innovation, improve the "basic skills" of new energy vehicles, and provide users with the "best price" and "best configuration" of the same vehicle model; To shape the vehicle integration capability and technological innovation advantages from chips, operating systems, software, data closed-loop, motion control systems, three electrical systems to corresponding scenarios, and to create a new "technological life form" with a "strong heart", "agile body", and "intelligent brain", creating the ultimate acceleration experience, ultimate safety experience, ultimate comfort experience, and ultimate intelligent experience for users.
In the second half of this year, 800V silicon carbide electric axles will be put into mass production, and future independent electric vehicle models will easily enter the "2-second acceleration club". Starting from 2024, SAIC solid-state batteries will be mass-produced, doubling their energy density, providing higher safety performance, and reducing costs by 10-30% compared to traditional lithium iron phosphate batteries. In 2024, the "vehicle central coordinated motion controller technology" will be mass-produced and implemented on autonomous vehicle models, achieving centralized control of the vehicle body with 6 degrees of freedom, allowing drivers to easily cope with various complex road conditions. In 2025, the leading "central computing+regional control" Galaxy Full Stack 3.0 intelligent vehicle solution in the industry will be fully implemented. The number of domain controllers will be reduced by half, data bandwidth will be increased by 5 times, wire harness length will be reduced by 30%, OTA speed will be increased by 70%, and the IoT ecosystem will be deeply integrated, supporting data closed-loop, enabling vehicles to have strong self-learning, self evolution, and self growth capabilities, achieving the ultimate intelligent experience of continuous scene.
Looking ahead to the future, SAIC Group will adhere to the principle of "user centeredness", fully focus on the new track of electric intelligence, actively create independent brands with distinct identification and technological leadership, distinctive advantages, and popular products, and strive to build a trillion level automotive industry group with global industrial competitiveness and international brand influence as soon as possible, striving to become a world-class automotive enterprise.
