In Shanghai, the "Guangming brand" ice cream cold drink has been favored by generations as a popular summer snack. In the refrigerators of shopping malls and supermarkets, the affordable "Bright Brand" ice cream cold drink is quite popular among consumers.
On July 31, 2023, a reporter from Liberation Daily's Shangguan News visited the cold drink workshop of Shanghai Yimin Food Factory Co., Ltd., the production site of "Guangming Brand" ice cream. In the clean and cold workshop, the staff changed clothes and disinfected three times before going on duty, and multiple ice cream production lines took turns to produce.
The rod type fully automatic production line mainly produces directly poured ice products. The milk flavored milky white slurry is poured into the grinding tool, inserted into the rod, and then frozen in the salt water tank, demolded with water, pulled out, and packaged... The star product, the Big White Rabbit Popsicle, with annual sales exceeding 100 million yuan, has been launched.
The slicing line mainly produces classic ice cream: white snow ice bricks, tricolor cups, and odd shaped doll ice cream... Approximately 450000 boxes of white snow ice bricks are produced every day.
Through aging, fragrance mixing, and extrusion molding by a freezing machine, the ice bricks and other products on the production line are cut into various shapes by fixed grinding tools. They are then frozen through a quick freezing tunnel and turned into hard ice cream, which is then packaged and boxed in a packaging machine.
After batches of ice cream are packaged offline, they are first stored in a -18 ℃ cold storage, and then transported by refrigerated trucks to major supermarkets throughout the city.
It is reported that after the summer solstice each year, the demand for cold drinks increases sharply, and the production of cold drinks in factories officially enters the peak season. The person in charge, Ma Baocai, said, "We work overtime every day and adopt a continuous production mode. On average, we need to open more than eight production lines per day, with a daily output of over 100 tons, approximately producing over 50000 boxes per day."
On the basis of stabilizing classic products, "Guangming Brand" ice cream cold drinks continue to innovate and seize the high-end market. The Da Hong Pao flavor of the "Uber" series launched this year, the sea salt cheese flavor egg cone of the "Da Bai Tu" series, and the co branded product orange juice soda ice cream have all achieved considerable sales and market feedback.
