There are many issues related to the region. Hainan reporters asked experts for their suggestions on building a clean energy island in Hainan. But the issue that everyone is particularly concerned about is none other than climate change. This year's continuous high temperatures seem to be reminding everyone that climate change is a fait accompli and a daily issue we need to face. Extreme weather events are becoming more and more frequent, changing and threatening the living conditions of most people. How should we deal with it?
Su Yang, a researcher at the Development Research Center of the State Council who arrived from Beijing, talked to reporters that for the first time this year, Beijing experienced three days of weather exceeding 40 degrees Celsius, breaking records. Last year, it was confirmed to be the year with the highest global temperature in the history of human meteorological records, which has put urgent pressure on everyone.
"A community with a shared future for mankind needs to consider multiple aspects, but the urgency of low-carbon is more obvious, and there are many obstacles in practical operation. Li Jinhui, Professor of the School of Environment at Tsinghua University and Deputy Director and Secretary General of the Solid Waste Treatment and Utilization Professional Committee of the China Environmental Protection Industry Association, admitted that extreme weather is difficult to change from a micro perspective. In the long run, to cope with extreme weather, we still need to adopt a global "dual carbon" strategy to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. "In the field of environmental protection, it is necessary to raise the standards of various ecological and environmental protection facilities. Previously, extreme conditions such as geology and floods occurred once in a century, but now they may occur every year. Therefore, raising the standards can reduce the harm." said Li Jinhui.
For ordinary people, turning off lights and green transportation have become standard features in their minds, but in addition to energy conservation and emission reduction, the utilization of carbon dioxide is also particularly important. Zhou Chunsong, a foreign academician of the European Academy of Natural Sciences, said, "Unfortunately, it is too late to say what lessons to learn or what methods to use to improve it. It is impossible for humanity to return to the era without carbon dioxide emissions." However, if we give up solving the problem, it is still too early. In recent years, Zhou Chunsong has been committed to researching the high-value utilization of carbon dioxide, and related technologies have begun industrial application. According to Zhou Chunsong's calculations, recovering 10000 tons of carbon dioxide through this technology can generate a profit of 270 million yuan. By turning carbon dioxide into treasure, it may contribute to addressing global climate issues.

Global collaboration is the future direction
In the interview, experts coincidentally mentioned international cooperation as a topic. Indeed, the construction of ecological civilization has never been a single country's struggle, but a regional and global collaboration.
At the end of last year, the Kunming Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework was officially adopted, which outlined ambitious goals for 2030, aimed at preventing biodiversity loss and promoting the restoration of degraded or damaged ecosystems. China has played a crucial role in promoting the adoption of the Kunmeng Framework.
Su Yang stated that China has transformed from a follower and participant to a leader and leader. "After the framework was signed, this is the first international forum, so the 2023 Ecological Civilization Guiyang International Forum is a particularly good opportunity for communication and collaboration, which is quite practical. Finally, everyone should work together to achieve the global goal of 2030." he said.
Equatorial Guinea Vice President Mange mentioned at the opening ceremony that the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, like all other countries aware of the negative impact on the environment, is committed to addressing climate change at the national level and supporting global efforts at the international level. As a country with abundant forest resources, Equatorial Guinea is committed to reducing deforestation, and its political commitment to sustainable development is reflected in its national development plan. To achieve a balance between energy demand and environmental protection, it is necessary to transition towards sustainable energy sources and practices, including promoting renewable energy, improving energy efficiency, and adopting innovative technologies. "Now is the time for industrialized and developed countries to know how to share technology, so that we can all embrace ecological transformation, address or prevent climate change together. Regarding how to promote effective international cooperation, Ma Chaode, Assistant Representative of the United Nations Development Programme to China, also believes that we can start with scientific and technological cooperation. International cooperation includes bringing in their knowledge products, bringing in some of their think tanks, and also going out. We cannot discuss the issue of nature reserves behind closed doors, we need to go out with an open attitude." he said.
Haibo, Senior Advisor to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development in China and Head of the China region, has visited Guizhou many times.
