This year marks the 20th anniversary of Zhejiang's promotion of the "Thousand Village Demonstration and Ten Thousand Village Renovation" initiative. The "Ten Million Project" has created many beautiful rural areas in Zhejiang, achieving significant results and leading the overall living environment of rural areas in Zhejiang to the forefront of the country. The reporter visited Baimahu Village in Shangyu Yiting Town, Shaoxing for two consecutive days and encountered rain. Li Guoyuan, the secretary of the village party branch, smiled and said, "Red trees, green mountains, and White Horse Lake are blurred by rain and smoke. The most beautiful scenery of White Horse Lake is after the rain."
This statement is not empty. After the rain, the sky has not yet fully cleared, and a thin layer of mist is reflected in the water on the mountain cage on the lake. The lake shimmered under the sunset, with occasional fish swimming lightly from below, spitting out a series of bubbles. Another gentle breeze blew by, creating one or two ripples, but then returned to calmness. The villagers working in the fields in the distance suddenly stopped their work and looked up at the returning birds passing by in the sky. They watched them fly further and further until they disappeared.
This kind of scenery easily reminds people of Zhu Ziqing's prose "White Horse Lake". In the 1920s, Zhu Ziqing taught at Chunhui Middle School by the Baima Lake. He once recalled that the best time at Baima Lake was dusk, and the best season was spring. On a summer night with a moon, rowing a small boat on the white horse lake covered in green mist on all sides also brings a different kind of interest. Perhaps it was also at dusk that he was moved by the scenery of the lake and mountains, and only then did he still remember this inconspicuous small lake when he arrived in Beiping in the future.
Isn't it a waste not to do some cultural and tourism articles about such beautiful scenery? Li Guoyuan sighed and talked about the history of the village. Previously, there was no "Baimahu Village". Now, Baimahu Village is formed by the merger of three natural villages: Lingxiawang, Zhaobu, and Hu'ao. Upon closer examination, although it covers nearly half of the lake area, most of the texts describing Baima Lake actually have nothing to do with Baima Lake Village. In the past two years, Shangyu has specially built the Baima Chunhui Scenic Area around Baima Lake and Chunhui Middle School to develop the cultural and tourism industry. When planning the scenic area, both Chunhui Village and Baimahu Village were included, but when the project was implemented, most of the scenic spots were concentrated in Chunhui Village.
Sometimes, the villagers of Baimahu Village envy Chunhui Village - the village is closer to the urban area of Shangyu, with more convenient transportation and a deeper historical and cultural heritage. With the acceleration of scenic area construction, new cultural and tourism projects have been launched in Chunhui Village one after another. Cafes and tea houses have been opened in the village, and popular tourist attractions have attracted tourists, which has also driven the development and income growth of the village. In contrast, the scenery of Baimahu Village, which relies entirely on its original ecology, is truly ordinary and unremarkable.
Baimahu Village does not have much reputation. When searching on social media, most of the scenery of Baima Lake comes from the neighboring Chunhui Village. It is also difficult to describe its unique features. In terms of mountains and clear waters, lakes and mountains, the neighboring villages are no exception. The annual Yangmei season is the highlight of Baimahu Village, but the picking and sightseeing time is short, and the peak passenger flow passes quickly with the fruit being taken off the shelves. Compared with the neighboring sister villages, Baimahu Village also has no special advantage. Some villagers complained to reporters about the immaturity of cultural and tourism development in the village, including the lack of large parking lots and difficulty for tourists to park during the peak period of yangmei picking; Some tourists have mistakenly guided the wrong route into the village for a visit, hoping to have a farmhouse meal but unable to find the restaurant that opened the door.
In recent years, many villages have developed well and have a solid foundation. They just want to get a share of the cultural and tourism market, and a group of "internet famous villages" have emerged. This was supposed to be a good thing, but over time, the problem of unclear positioning and one village after another began to emerge, gradually forming a culture: it seems that the development of cultural tourism and the opening of homestays in the village means that rural revitalization has achieved "results"? Li Guoyuan believes that the cultural and tourism industry is "not leading". He asked Li Guoyuan if he had his own ideas. Li Guoyuan had previously engaged in the office furniture business and was well aware of the importance of warehousing and logistics. In recent years, thanks to the improvement of transportation infrastructure such as the construction of surrounding roads and the opening of tunnels, the traffic situation in Baimahu Village has greatly improved, making it a convenient transportation village. Therefore, Li Guoyuan wants to build a warehouse in the village to develop the logistics industry, and related engineering facilities are about to start construction. In addition, he found that neighboring villages are developing cultural and tourism industries, and have also gathered some popularity. However, there are still pain points in catering services, and there is still a lack of a delicious and high-end local restaurant. Currently, he is in talks to introduce a large catering brand.
