It is reported that this series of activities has been carried out for three consecutive years. The "Veterans Reading Club" summer special event is divided into three sessions, with the reportage literature "Who is the Most Lovely Person" as the main reading material, and veterans as the core narrators. It comprehensively and from multiple perspectives reviews the historical context of the Korean War, guiding participants to understand the significant strategic significance of the Korean War and the spiritual value behind the great victory of the Korean War.

The first phase of the series of activities was held at Yangpu Primary School, focusing on popularizing the historical facts of the Korean War. Through detailed explanations by veterans from Jiangwan Army, such as Lu Hua, Zhang Yong'an, and Li Junxia, as well as leading teachers, students were helped to understand the historical background, war situation, and historical significance of the Korean War. During this time, the veteran vividly told his classmates about the glorious deeds of Mao Anying, the first volunteer of the Chinese People's Volunteer Army, and Luo Shengjiao, the model of the Chinese People's Volunteer Army's love for the people, as well as the touching stories that occurred between the masses and the Volunteer Army. Through the narration of veterans, reading of texts, and watching videos, the entire history of the Korean War was vividly presented to the teachers and students present. Together, we revisited history, reminisced about the past, and paid tribute to the martyrs of the volunteer army in the Korean War.

The second phase was held in the Yangpu Binjiang People's City Construction Planning Exhibition Hall, focusing on guiding students to explore the source of spiritual power behind the great victory of the volunteer army in the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea, and unlocking the invincible "spiritual code" of the people's army under the leadership of the CPC. This event specially invited two veterans, Lu Kaixi and Niu Chuanwen, from the Jiangwan Military Rest Center to participate in the explanation and interaction.

The lead teacher used "frozen potatoes" as an introduction to lead the students closer to the deadly battle that took place in the ice and snow - the Battle of Changjin Lake. By playing relevant clips from the movie "Changjin Lake" and vivid narratives of two veterans, the students present deeply understood the hardships and difficulties behind achieving victory in the Battle of Changjin Lake. Afterwards, by introducing the deeds of the special combat hero Yang Gensi, the story of Hu Qin in the "Two States and Three Kingdoms", and the military life of the two veterans, the volunteer army's "fearless of rape, sacrifice, struggle, and victory" and the revolutionary optimism spirit accumulated by the People's Army for a long time were vividly displayed in front of every student present.

The third session was held at the Yangpu District Military Retired Cadre Service Management Center, with the theme of "Looking Back on Time, Heroic Spirit Forever". Comrade Hu Zhengsheng, a volunteer veteran who had personally visited the Korean battlefield, and Comrade Yuan Minfen, a veteran of the Yangpu Military Retirement Center, were specially invited. Comrade Hu Zhengsheng, based on his own military experience in North Korea, showcased to his classmates the excellent qualities of the Chinese People's Volunteer Army, which is "brave and skilled in struggle", through five small stories that happened to his troops and comrades around him. He also urged the students present to study hard and strive tirelessly to achieve the Chinese Dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

The organizers of the event stated that 70 years after the great victory of the Korean War, they jointly organized a special summer event to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Korean War. The purpose is to plant the spiritual seed of "respecting heroes and striving to be heroes" among young children, cultivate young people with ideals and responsibilities in the new era, and enable the realization of the Chinese Dream of national rejuvenation to be realized through the continuous struggle of generations of Chinese people.
