This morning, the second batch of modern urban key projects and a batch of supporting road projects in Chuansha New Town, Pudong New Area were launched, including six road projects in the eastern area of the city and the Liuzao 2.1 area. The project not only concerns the convenience of travel for surrounding residents, but also further enhances the urban quality and function of Chuansha as a sub center and the living room of Shanghai East Station hub. The two areas are also expected to become new development highlands for Chuansha.

The construction of modern urban areas is one of the development goals proposed by the central government for the construction of the leading area in Pudong. Since the beginning of this year, Pudong New Area has created a new pattern of modern urban areas around the three circles of "boutique urban areas, modern towns, and beautiful countryside". As a sub center of the city and one of the major towns in central Pudong, Chuansha has also been officially approved for its 2035 overall plan. Huang Zhenhua, member of the Party Committee and Deputy Mayor of Chuansha New Town, introduced that according to the 2025 Modern Urban "Three Year Action Plan", there are a total of 135 projects in Chuansha, involving a total investment of 11.3 billion yuan. "This year, we have already started the first batch of key modern urban construction projects such as high standard farmland and rural road major and medium-sized repairs. Today, our second batch of modern urban supporting road projects have also officially started. This means that the development and construction progress of Chuansha is further accelerated."

It is understood that today's construction mainly involves six road projects in the Chengdong area and Liuzao 2.1 area. The Chengdong area and Liuzao 2.1 area are the high-quality new urban areas that Chuansha will focus on building in the coming years. At present, the Chengdong area is implementing the "Urban Village" project to promote regional development and construction. In the future, it will further enhance the urban function and quality of the area by combining projects such as improving the environment on both sides of the Pudong Canal and developing the upper cover of the Lingkong Road subway station; Liuzao 2.1 area is promoting the construction of supporting resettlement housing at the city and district levels.

Among them, several resettlement housing communities in the Chengdong area and Liuzao 2.1 area have been relocated. With the gradual construction of other commercial housing and resettlement housing plots, a large number of people need to be supported by a complete urban road network system to import. The six urban secondary roads and branch roads, including Hebin Road, Mingyue Road, Baoxi Road, Qiushuo Road, Jixia Road, and Haoyun Road, which started construction today, have a total length of 4.8 kilometers and a total investment of 320 million yuan. The planned completion date is 2024. These supporting road projects are related to the convenience of transportation for surrounding residents, and are an important carrier for improving urban functions, enhancing urban image, and improving the quality of life of residents. They are also an important component of the construction of the "15 minute living circle" and "modern urban" in Chuansha. In addition, after the completion of the road, it will also enhance the function of Chuansha as the living room of the East Station hub, and in the future, it will welcome visitors from all directions.
