This portrait oil painting exhibition was held in Jiangchuan, Minhang, China, showcasing the overall portrait of Shanghai musicians, including He Shouchang
On June 13th, the "Shanghai Melody" He Shouchang music portrait oil painting, created by the famous artist and former Party Secretary of Shanghai Theatre Academy, He Shouchang, was exhibited in Jiangchuan Road Street, Minhang District. It is reported that this series of paintings depicts a total of 43 groups of music figures who have influenced Shanghai, including well-known masters and masters such as He Luting, Ding Shande, Huang Yijun, Lv Qiming, Zhu Jianer, and Cao Peng.
It is reported that since the 1990s, Mr. He Shouchang has had a long-standing wish to create an overall portrait of Shanghai musicians and leave a lasting impression on Shanghai style culture. Never forget, there will always be an echo. At the end of last year, this series of paintings was officially exhibited on a tour in Shencheng, shining like small suns planted with staff and brushes, illuminating the brilliance of art to every corner. This time, the tour arrived at Jiangchuan Road Street, commonly known as "Old Minhang". This used to be a heavy industry base in Shanghai, gathering a large number of retired workers, and was also a key area for this exhibition tour. Mr. He Shouchang has always been paying attention to this area.
Since the 1950s, a large number of industrial workers have relocated their families to the Jiangchuan region in order to promote the industrial construction of New China and take root. In that magnificent era of struggle, this group of industrial workers made outstanding contributions to the heavy industry in Shanghai and even throughout China. Among them, not only many model worker who are willing to contribute have been born, but also the nationally famous "No.1 Road Spirit", "Shoulder pole Spirit", "Ten thousand ton Spirit", and "Co creating a thriving life spirit" have been born, injecting inexhaustible spiritual power into the future development of Jiangchuan region.
This group of old workers and the musicians under He Shouchang's pen are interconnected and grow together. Industrial development supports the proliferation of literature and art, and literary creation promotes industrial vitality. The musicians exhibited in this art exhibition have been deeply loved by industrial workers. Many of their popular songs have inspired their enthusiasm for production and enriched their leisure life.
Nowadays, with the passage of time, these workers have all turned white haired and lost their youthful appearance. Taking care of their retirement life has become a major event in Jiangchuan Road Street. In addition to improving material conditions, the local government also hopes to spiritually make these old workers fully feel the beautiful era they have created. The Shanghai Melody He Shouchang Music Portrait Oil Painting Tour, which entered Jiangchuan, is an excellent tribute to this group of veteran workers.
This series of paintings also utilizes new era technology, with a QR code below each portrait. Viewers who come to observe will scan and hear representative works of musicians in the paintings. Wearing headphones and matching with the portrait, they enter an artistic world. The visible, readable, and audible scenes have aroused the nostalgia of the elderly workers for their youth, and some of them even hum along with familiar melodies.
In terms of creative methods, Mr. He Shouchang's creation is not a castle in the air, but through extensive interviews and research, he understands the personality and story behind each musician, establishes each person's different style, and then presents it to the audience through his brush. For example, the background of ethnic musicians tends to lean more towards Eastern aesthetics. The portrait background of renowned guqin performer Gong Yi is composed of elements full of Eastern flavor, such as ancient Chinese architecture, the maid playing the guqin, and two white cranes, presenting the musician's notes with visual elements.
At the event, not only were folk musicians invited to play representative works of Lu Chunling, the king of the flute, but also Lu Chunling's son, Lu Ru'an, was invited to tell the stories behind the creators and works. His passionate narration made the veteran workers feel as if they were there, and also pushed the atmosphere of the scene to a climax.
It is worth mentioning that this exhibition fully leverages the advantages of party building and invites regional party building liaison units such as Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Minkai Development, Aerospace Factory, and the "Four Great Kings" to exchange ideas with representatives of old workers and model workers present, and jointly participate in this cultural feast.
