Changqiao New Village is a typical "two old and one village" in Shanghai, founded in 1958. It is one of the earlier worker's new villages to be put into use in Shanghai. Among them, some houses in Changqiao Second Village have undergone the baptism of time, and in recent years, the overall quality of the houses has gradually shown signs of decline and significant settlement. However, due to the fact that the plot is mostly old and historic buildings, with a high degree of aging hardware facilities, and a small living area, rudimentary kitchen and bathroom facilities, and a lack of supporting living facilities, the fire safety hazards of residential buildings are becoming increasingly prominent, and the inconvenience of residents' lives is becoming more significant.

The reporter learned that the residential area had undergone two rounds of old land renovation inquiries in 2008 and 2013, but ultimately failed. This year, Xuhui District has made the renovation of "two old and one village" a top priority in urban renewal work. After the relocation of residents, the content and pace of the work of the Party branch in residential areas are also facing transformation. Wang Gang told the reporter that next, the general party branch in the residential area will coordinate with the civil affairs department to conduct a new round of sorting out the registered residence registration of residents, and at the same time do a good job of organizational relationship transfer for party members and residents. In addition, there are also some residents living in complete sets of residential buildings in the residential area.
