In April this year, the first batch of intelligent connected rental demonstration operations in the city were launched in Jiading. Enterprises such as Baidu Zhixing, Baodong Technology, Saike Chuxing, and Volkswagen Rental were awarded vehicle demonstration operation certificates. "On the streets of Jiading, citizens and tourists can get a taxi with autonomous driving. Last year, the scale of Jiading's automobile industry exceeded 830 billion yuan, with a total output of 164.69 billion yuan from the "new four modernizations" of automobiles.

In terms of carriers, based on the deep cultivation of hydrogen ports, new energy ports, and innovation ports, Jiading launched the construction of Shanghai Intelligent Automotive Software Park and Automotive Core Valley last year. The layout of the "three ports and two parks" carriers for the "new four modernizations" of automobiles has been completed, gathering more than 600 automotive "new four modernizations" enterprises.

According to Lu Fangzhou, Jiading has gathered over 200 public and enterprise research and development platforms, as well as 76000 automotive talents, and has established two major industrial alliances: intelligent connected vehicles and hydrogen and fuel cell vehicles. "By 2025, the scale of the intelligent connected vehicle industry in Jiading District aims to reach 300 billion yuan, promoting the transformation of 300 traditional car companies towards the 'new four modernizations'."

Steadily building a modern industrial system

On August 18th, there was a new move in the industrial development of Jiading District - the construction of an industrial town around the leading enterprise Lianying Medical. This "Lianying Town" located in the Jiading Industrial Zone has a total land area of about 9.5 square kilometers, covering the old towns of Zhuqiao and Loutang, as well as the areas along the Baoqian Highway. In terms of high-performance medical equipment and precision medicine, Jiading District has formed a group of listed enterprises represented by leading enterprises such as Lianying, Sanyou Medical, and Kangdelai, with a total output value of 23.58 billion yuan in 2022. In terms of intelligent sensors and the Internet of Things, Jiading is building the "North Wing" of the city's integrated circuit layout, forming an important integrated circuit production line layout that covers pilot testing, research and development, and mass production. In terms of online new economy, in 2022, Jiading achieved a total output of 311.92 billion yuan and completed e-commerce retail sales of 101.74 billion yuan, accounting for about 30% of the city's total.

Characteristic parks are important spatial carriers for industrial development. According to Lu Tielong, Director of the Jiading District Economic Committee, there are currently 19 characteristic industrial parks in Jiading, including 3 municipal level characteristic parks and 16 district level characteristic parks. In the first half of this year, 27000 new enterprises were established in Jiading District, an increase of 79%; 167 billion yuan projects were introduced, an increase of 70.4%; 1314 enterprises have completed intelligent manufacturing diagnostic evaluations, ranking first in the city in terms of quantity.

"Dual engines" work together to promote regional development

The "Impression West Street" representing Jiading yesterday, the "Yuanxiang Cultural Source" representing Jiading today, and the "Jiabao Smart Bay" representing Jiading tomorrow are the three demonstration model areas of Jiading New City. In June this year, the first plot of the "Jiabao Smart Bay" Future Urban Practice Zone officially started construction, highlighting the "sense of future" of Jiading New City.

The first plot of "Jiabao Smart Bay" has been named "Xinghan Space", covering an area of nearly 10000 square meters, with a building area of over 50000 square meters and a total investment of about 600 million yuan.
