On June 13, 2023, the Spiritual Civilization Construction Conference of Wujiaochang Street in Yangpu District was held at the "Renren Lecture Hall" on the Guoding Branch Road, and the "Renren Lecture Hall" project was launched. "Renren Lecture Hall" is currently operated and managed by Xueyue Fengyong Bookstore. It will hold 100 themed activities every year, covering topics such as lectures on Shanghai style culture, intangible cultural heritage inheritance, traditional Chinese medicine consultation, and cultural walks.
At the event, the most eye-catching piece was a display board, surrounded by residents on three floors inside and three floors outside, and everyone was discussing non-stop. There are ten themed activities on the display board that are currently being voted on, and the one with the highest number of votes will become the first event of Renren Lecture Hall.
Ms. Wu, who works in a nearby online new economy company, is interested in "Big Yangpu Small Place Names": "Although I have been working and living in Wujiaochang for three or four years, I don't know much about Yangpu's humanities and history. I hope I can make up a missed lesson." Aunt Zhang, who had just bought the food, cast a vote for the lecture called "Tai Chi and Health Meet". She said: "I like to play Tai Chi. I play it every day, which is good for my health." On the other side, Uncle Chen hopes to see "Shadow Play": "I want to show my grandson."
The voting lasted for three days, and in the end, the "Why Yangpu" series of lectures, "Small Place Names in Dayangpu," received the highest number of votes. The lecture on that day was led by Professor Zhang Guowei, a specially appointed researcher at the Archives of Fudan University. Professor Zhang led the audience to gain a detailed understanding of the history and origin of the Yangpu place name. The vivid lecture brought applause from the "Everyone Lectures Hall".

"The content of the event is to be enjoyed by the surrounding residents and white-collar workers. As the lecture progresses, we will continuously collect the opinions of residents, adjust the content and form of the lecture, and make the national branch road full of 'fireworks' and' book fragrance '." Shao Xiaoyan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Wujiaochang Street, said, "Everyone's Lecture Hall adheres to the full process of people's democracy, from lecture content to exterior design to site selection, and leaves it to residents to choose and make decisions."
The reporter saw that the roof of "Renren Lecture Hall" is designed with the character "human", which integrates the concept of "people's city, people's building, and people's city for the people" in the exterior design. It also looks like a book being flipped through, blending the fireworks and book fragrance. It is reported that Wujiaochang Street has selected greenhouses around the Guoding Branch Vegetable Market by exploring the community public space resources on the Guoding Branch Road. The street took the initiative to connect with the commercial group, actively negotiated with the greenhouse users, and completed the greenhouse clearance work.
In the design and planning stage of Renren Lecture Hall, the street fully gathered surrounding resources, integrated multiple forces, and made good use of platforms such as the "Voter Reception Day" of the People's Congress, the "Wuyou Zhihui Hall" and "Five in One" meetings of the Youth League Working Committee. Over the weekend, more than 20 opinions and suggestions were held, and survey questionnaires were distributed multiple times to surrounding residents, white-collar workers, university teachers and students to solicit the needs and opinions of residents, students and other groups. Community residents, in-service party members, volunteers, and primary and secondary school students collectively transformed into "extra planners". Guided by the needs of the masses, the appearance design, functional positioning, and activity content of Renren Lecture Hall were ultimately determined, and "Renren Lecture Hall" truly achieved "for everyone".
