On the afternoon of September 1st, the launch ceremony of Zhangjiang High tech's 2023 "895 Talent Gathering" and the Autumn Joint Double Selection Conference of the Integrated Circuit Industry were held at the Integrated Circuit Design Industry Park in Shanghai, China. The theme of this event is "Core to the Sea Smart Gathering in Zhangjiang", inviting over 30 well-known IC companies such as Changxin Storage, Botong Integration, Guoxin Technology, and Gailun Electronics to launch over 1000 positions. It has attracted over 900 students from more than 10 universities, including Fudan University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, to come to Zhangjiang and accelerate the gathering of outstanding talents in the integrated circuit industry.
According to Fu Jun, Deputy Director of the Zhangjiang Management Bureau of the Free Trade Zone, as of the first half of this year, the number of employees in Zhangjiang Science City has reached 500000, with 100000 people holding graduate degrees or above. Young talents account for 80%, and overseas high-level talents in entrepreneurship account for about 50% in Shanghai. "We hope to build an efficient and accurate communication platform between talents and enterprises, promote the balance of talent supply in the integrated circuit industry, accumulate innovative power for the development of the integrated circuit industry, and promote the construction of a world-class integrated circuit industry cluster."
At the event, more than ten graduates from universities including Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, East China Normal University, Tongji University, and East China University of Science and Technology actively participated, with majors covering electronic information, electronic information engineering, electronic science and technology, software engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science and technology, communication engineering, etc. In response to the professional advantages and job seeking intentions of graduates from various universities, Zhangjiang High tech has also deeply explored the job resources of enterprises and invited units across the entire industry chain, including integrated circuit equipment, materials, manufacturing, design, packaging and testing, and applications, to participate in the double selection meeting.
According to statistics, during the dual election period, a total of 1000 job positions were recommended, and over 11000 resumes were received, with a new high rate of employment intention achievement. "After the on-site interview, I have some clear ideas about my future career plan and I look forward to joining my ideal company this autumn." A fresh student from the Electronic Science and Technology major said that after continuous communication with multiple companies, he has reached a preliminary employment intention with a company in Shanghai that focuses on the field of power management chips.
The reporter learned that since 2020, Zhangjiang High tech has held the "895 Talent Gathering" double selection event every year. This year, with the official launch of Zhangjiang High tech's 2023 "895 Talent Gathering" and the Autumn Joint Double Selection Conference for the Integrated Circuit Industry, Shanghai, Chengdu, and Xi'an will simultaneously enter the chip "Talent Month" time. Enterprises and students can use this platform to "travel in both directions".
At present, Shanghai Integrated Circuit Design Industrial Park, as one of the first batch of municipal level characteristic industrial parks in Shanghai, is the only industrial agglomeration area in the city led by the integrated circuit design industry, which is built with international standards and a global perspective. Since its establishment at the end of 2018, the park has accelerated the gathering of enterprises, with approximately 400 integrated circuit design enterprises operating locally. Seven of the top 10 global chip design companies have established regional headquarters and research and development centers here, while six of the top 10 national chip design companies have established headquarters and research and development centers. The industrial space in the park has doubled, and the service facilities are becoming increasingly perfect. The eastern extension of Metro Line 13 has set up two subway stations in the park, adding about 1500 affordable rental housing units.
