Free access to citizens until July 12th, the 4th Pudong New Area Calligraphy and Seal Engraving Exhibition opens Seal Engraving | Shanghai Pudong New Area Cultural and Art Guidance Center | Exhibition of Works
On the afternoon of June 29th, the "Integrity and Innovation - The 4th Pudong New Area Calligraphy and Seal Engraving Exhibition" opened at the Pudong New Area Cultural and Art Guidance Center in Shanghai. This event is guided by the Shanghai Calligraphers Association and jointly organized by the Shanghai Pudong New Area Literature and Art Federation, the Shanghai Pudong New Area Cultural and Art Guidance Center, the Shanghai Pudong New Area Mass Culture and Art Museum, and the Shanghai Pudong New Area Calligraphers Association.
The purpose of the activity is to tell Chinese stories well with a brush, strengthen artistic exchanges with excellent Chinese traditional culture, display the cultural achievements of Pudong, enrich the cultural life of the masses, and demonstrate the spirit and character of embracing all rivers and rivers and pursuing excellence. Since the event was launched in December 2022, more than 200 submissions have been received, and the creative level of submitted works has improved compared with previous years. In order to encourage and prosper Pudong calligraphy culture, the number of entries and selections has been appropriately increased. After strict evaluation by the jury, a total of 20 excellent works, 120 works and 30 selected works were selected.
The calligraphers from the Pudong New Area Calligraphers Association and representatives of the authors who participated in the exhibition and won awards provided guidance to the audience on site. From the award-winning and exhibited works, we can see that there are impressive expressions in terms of font, composition, brushstrokes, and grandeur, including genuine, cursive, seal script, and clerical script. With a wide range of techniques and diverse styles, it demonstrates a solid foundation in brushwork and ink, as well as a millennium old cultural heritage, making us deeply appreciate the charm and cultural heritage of calligraphy and seal carving art.
Calligraphy, as a unique cultural heritage of the Chinese nation, not only contains profound cultural connotations, but is also an important component of China's excellent traditional culture. This exhibition is located in Hall B1, 2769 Jinxiu Road, Pudong New Area, and will be open to citizens for free from now until July 12th.
