Focusing on how to spend the "last stop" of life with dignity in the community, this academic seminar and art sharing activity Music | Community | Activity
What is the ultimate meaning of life? How to spend the "last stop" of life with warmth and dignity? Recently, an academic seminar and art sharing event with the theme of "Life Education and Palliative Care under the Integration of Community Care" was held in Liangcheng Xincun Street, Hongkou District. Representatives of community residents who participated in this activity followed life reviews, case sharing, care practices, music therapy, and other stages to understand life, understand life, and touch dignity, quietly sowing the seeds of "peaceful care".
Palliative care is centered around end-of-life patients and their families, providing physical, psychological, and spiritual care and humanistic care services for end-of-life patients through a multidisciplinary collaborative model. It originated from end-of-life care and aims to treat people rather than cure them. It is committed to providing social, humanistic, and emotional comfort for patients, allowing them to live with dignity and quality.
With the increasing severity of aging, in recent years, hospice care services, as an important part of elderly care services, have gradually entered the public eye and attracted increasing attention from society and families. The "14th Five Year Plan" for the development of the national elderly care industry and the elderly care service system clearly includes "hospice care services" in it.
This event adopts a cross disciplinary approach of humanities, arts, and medicine, inviting scholars, experts, and artists to focus on the value of life, dignity of death, and peaceful care. Through various concrete and intuitive art forms, it enhances everyone's understanding and comprehension of the meaning of life.
How to view "the last stop of life" rationally? In the life review section, Professor Yang Fang from Shanghai University explained the important significance of life review and the mental health of the elderly, and introduced intervention methods to solve the psychological and social crisis of the elderly - "By fully informing, helping the object establish a professional trust relationship, a good atmosphere of memory, integrating or integrating re evaluated ideas into the life of the reviewer..."
How can hospice care enter the community and provide spiritual and humanistic care for more patients? Huang Yueyue, Deputy Chief Physician of Liangcheng Community Health Center, shared specific cases of hospice care and proposed that every patient should receive comfortable care with dignity. By maintaining their quality of life until the end of their lives, they can achieve the "painless leave" that patients and their families expect. Dr. Chen Huijing from the School of Sociology at Shanghai University introduced the application of music therapy in community care for the elderly. Through music activities with therapeutic effects, it helps those in need to achieve recovery or promote physical and mental health, and eliminate psychological barriers.
This event also brings sharing of artistic works to everyone. The works of Chai Wentao, a freelance artist, and Wang Airui, a child, showcased their insights and understanding of the meaning of life. The attendees were immersed in them and applauded warmly. On site, Mr. Zhao, a resident representative, stated that by participating in this sharing activity, he has received a profound life education and spiritual baptism, and will pay more attention to peaceful care in the future.
Yin Guangji, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Liangcheng Xincun Street, stated that due to inadequate publicity, information asymmetry, and the influence of traditional concepts, the public's awareness of the importance of palliative care is still insufficient. As a residential community with a high proportion of elderly population, Liangcheng Xincun Street hopes to promote and expand residents' understanding, recognition, and recognition of hospice care knowledge, actively create a good social atmosphere, promote social care education, promote the construction of an elderly friendly society, and continuously improve community civilization and urban temperature.
This event is hosted by Shanghai University and organized by the School of Sociology of Shanghai University and Liangcheng Xincun Street.
