Behind the scenes lies the wisdom of residents. The "15 Minute Community Life Circle Map of Caoyang Xincun Street" was first launched in the community | facilities | wisdom
As one of the pilot projects of the "15 minute community life circle" in Shanghai, Caoyang Xincun Street in Putuo District has been continuously optimizing and improving the construction level and service functions of education, culture, medical care, elderly care, sports, leisure, and employment facilities in the community. However, these efforts also bring a new challenge: how to enable residents to "find and use convenient services" when they need them, so as to achieve more convenient community access and more accurate demand matching?
At a "Government Open Month" event held on August 18th, Caoyang Xincun Street brought a solution to this problem - in collaboration with the Shanghai Surveying and Mapping Institute, they jointly released the "Caoyang Xincun Street 15 Minute Community Life Circle Map", using an online intelligent query method of "one map in hand, all services available" to provide convenient services for community residents.
Open new community convenience services on fingertips
As one of the first users to experience "Map", Aunt Chen, who lives in the residential area of Huaxiyuan, tapped her smartphone and found a relevant service location only 200 meters away from her home in her most concerned "suitable for maintenance" category. She excitedly said, "Before, I only knew that the Party and Mass Service Center had a happy meal. But now I have more choices. Not only can I find delicious food on my phone, but I can also find interesting activities!"
The biggest feature of Map is its comprehensive information and convenient intelligence. It is understood that this project is a product of deep cooperation between Caoyang Xincun Street and Shanghai Surveying and Mapping Institute. It is a "1+1" real-life map product that integrates scientific, practical, and artistic aspects, including a dynamic query map and a panoramic electronic map.
Residents can scan the QR code, follow the "Tushu Shanghai" official account, or search for "Caoyang Xincun Street Flagship Store" using the "Follow the Application · Citizen Cloud" APP, query and use this map to easily find the existing five types of facilities in Caoyang Community that are suitable for living, working, traveling, studying and raising, as well as practical life information.
In the Map, you can also walk to the surrounding time zones by selecting "5 minutes", "10 minutes", and "15 minutes" to view the facility locations within different time zones, and use the navigation function to query the route with just one click. At the same time, residents can search for the name of the facility to learn relevant information.
In terms of visual design, Map provides three styles of map templates: Jiangnan style, minimalist style, and image style, bringing different dimensions of visual experience.

Practicing the new model of questioning the needs of the people in the process
As the "protagonist" in community life, the needs of residents are diverse and extensive. Therefore, when designing and optimizing the "Map", the voices of residents are fully considered.
Caoyang Xincun Street, in collaboration with the Shanghai Surveying and Mapping Institute, has conducted multiple research visits and exchange discussions on "asking for needs from the people and asking for advice from the people". Through continuous collection of social sentiment and public opinion, it has further enriched the functionality and practicality of the "Map".
"We elderly people sometimes have poor eyesight and hope to have brighter colors and larger fonts in our designs."
"I hope to be more precise in positioning. When navigating, the route should be the shortest and the instructions should be clear."
"Community canteens, public toilets, etc. are facilities that we are very concerned about, and we hope they can be highlighted."
These authentic "voices" that are both "essential" and "golden ideas" provide a clear direction for the design of "Map".
Based on the actual situation of facility locations, the street and surveying and mapping institute have formulated corresponding measures and plans in combination with the opinions and suggestions of the residents.

In terms of color design, high saturation and beautiful color blocks make the information on the map more eye-catching, allowing residents to quickly identify various facilities and easily find the location they need.
At the same time, the minimalist search rules also make the map interface cleaner and more tidy, making it easy for elderly residents to get started.
In terms of information collection and verification, we will continue to increase the information collection and verification efforts at various facility locations on the basis of existing resource endowments and technological advantages, ensuring accurate positioning and accessible routes.
In addition, some facilities that are difficult to find on conventional electronic maps have been added to the map, such as "one click ride hailing" service stations, community canteens, elderly meal assistance points, elderly activity rooms, pocket parks, fitness park points, fitness trails, charging stations, public toilets, etc., further enriching the living experience of residents.
In the interaction testing before the final release of the map, feedback from community residents played a crucial role. In the future, the streets will continue to listen to the voices of residents, continuously improve the functionality of maps, and create a more convenient and comfortable living environment for community residents.
