"Today is the birthday of the Party, an unusual day." Although his head is covered in white hair, 74 year old Zheng Xuedong is still spirited. On that day, he set off from Baoshan early in the morning and rode his bicycle to the site of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China. As a photography enthusiast, he specially brought a camera to capture the picture of the national flag rising in the birthplace of the Party. "I have been here many times during my freshman year, and the experience of coming here on July 1st is even more touching." The elderly person with over 20 years of party experience proudly said that many of his family members are also party members, and he will bring his grandchildren here in the future to tell them the story of party building.
62 year old Shen Minjuan specially came to Shanghai from Suzhou the night before. Early that morning, she arrived at the site of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China and took a group photo with the birthplace of the party. "I have an inexplicable bond with the glorious city of Shanghai," the old man told reporters. He was a 1979 college student who came to Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine to study and later became a doctor, realizing his life dream. "I have been in the Party for 40 years, and I am really excited to return to Shanghai again. We are witnesses and beneficiaries of the reform and opening up. On that day, a themed music party class titled "Playing an Ode to the Great Spirit of Party Building" attracted many viewers to stop and watch. The Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra brought works such as "Ode to the Red Flag", orchestral piece "Long Live the People", and violin and cello double concerto "Shikumen Rhapsody", interpreting the great spirit of Party building with red melodies.
