Thousands of miles to aid Zhuozhou, Shanghai Democratic League members initiate material donation guarantee | Jing'an District Committee | Zhuozhou
The flooding caused by heavy rainfall in Zhuozhou, Hebei Province, is affecting the hearts of the people across the country. If one side is in difficulty, support from all directions. Cars of disaster relief supplies from all over the country, along with unfamiliar volunteers, are injecting strength into this small town to overcome difficulties.
The members of the Shanghai Democratic League were moved by the flood. With the strong support of the Jing'an District Committee of the Democratic League of China, the "aid to the front line of Zhuozhou" material donation operation initiated and organized by Jing'an Alliance members Fei Shishun and Kuai Yibing quickly launched. The Democratic League organization provided strong support and rear assistance to jointly assist in the flood control and disaster relief in Zhuozhou.
On August 3rd, Zhang Yun, the chairman of the Jing'an District Committee of the Democratic League, urgently ordered Wang Bo, the chairman of the Economic Branch of the Jing'an District Committee of the Democratic League, to quickly establish a support group. The Economic Branch immediately established contact with the Baoding Democratic League in Hebei and quickly opened up channels for material transportation. Two alliance members, Fei Shishun and Kuai Yibing, took active actions, running around on Fridays and Saturdays, conducting overnight inventory of donated materials, forming a list of goods, and completing all preparation work for material transportation on Saturday evening.
At 16:30 on August 6th, a 7.6-meter large truck loaded with 12 tons of supplies completed its assembly, carrying the love of the Jing'an District Committee of the Democratic League and allied entrepreneurs, and departed on time with daily necessities and food. After 29 hours of transportation, the aid supplies worth over 230000 yuan arrived in Zhuozhou at 21:30 on the 7th and were delivered to the affected people as soon as possible.
In addition, Xu Bin, a member of the alliance from Hongkou, went to the material points of the vocational education center in Zhuozhou city and the Laishui Yesanpo service area in the disaster stricken area within 48 hours from August 4th to 6th to provide volunteer services for material transportation, and raised more than 27000 yuan for flood control and disaster relief work.
"I hope these supplies can provide some protection for the disaster stricken people and help them overcome difficulties together. If necessary, we will raise funds and send them one batch after another," said the alliance members.
