Yesterday afternoon, the "2023 Shanghai Think Tank Forum to Create High Quality Life in Yangtze River Delta Cities" was held, and the "Evaluation and Analysis Report on High Quality Life in Yangtze River Delta Cities" was released by the Shanghai Development Research Institute of the Municipal Party School.
"In the '14th Five Year Plan' and the 2035 Vision Goal Outline, cities in the Yangtze River Delta have placed the improvement of people's quality of life in an important position, and have put forward new target requirements for creating high-quality life." Zeng Jun, Vice President of the Municipal Party School, said that the current integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta is accelerating. With the continuous improvement of facility connectivity, resource sharing, and collaborative governance, regional integration is expected to bring huge dividends to the creation of high-quality life in cities in the Yangtze River Delta.
This report measures the living standards of 17 major cities in the Yangtze River Delta region using a comprehensive index method. The top ten cities are Shanghai, Hangzhou, Jiaxing, Nantong, Wenzhou, Ningbo, Suzhou, Wuxi, Nanjing, and Xuzhou.
"As the city with the highest quality of life in the Yangtze River Delta region, Shanghai maintains a significant leading advantage in smart, convenient, and colorful living." Pan Wenxuan, Executive Vice President of the Shanghai Development Research Institute at the Party School of the Municipal Party Committee, introduced that the intercity gap in the quality of life in major cities in Jiangsu is relatively small, and the quality of life in Nantong, Suzhou, and Wuxi ranks among the top three cities in Jiangsu.
In addition, the quality of life in major cities in Zhejiang is generally high, with the vast majority of cities having a quality of life in the middle and upper reaches of the Yangtze River Delta. Among them, Hangzhou and Jiaxing have a quality of life that ranks second and third among major cities in the Yangtze River Delta, respectively. The difference in quality of life between different cities in Anhui is relatively small and well balanced.
This report mentions that although the overall quality of life in some cities is not high, they still have significant advantages in one or several areas of quality of life. For example, the work life balance in Fuyang and Yancheng is significantly higher than other cities. Hefei ranks among the top three major cities in the Yangtze River Delta in terms of intelligent and efficient government services and social justice, while Shaoxing performs outstandingly in terms of health level, health literacy, and behavior.
