In order to promote the heroic and exemplary deeds, under the guidance of the Shanghai Veterans Affairs Bureau, the 2023 National Martyrs Explanator Competition Shanghai Division Selection Competition with the theme of "Learning Thoughts and Praising Martyrs" was held at the Longhua Martyrs Cemetery yesterday afternoon.
This selection competition is divided into a professional group and a volunteer group. 24 contestants from 14 districts in the professional group signed up, including the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery in Jiading District, the Martyrs Cemetery in Jinshan District, the Martyrs Cemetery in Songjiang District, and the Martyrs Cemetery in Longhua District; A total of 14 participants from 11 districts of the volunteer group signed up, including the Hongkou District Veterans Service Center, Shanghai Normal University, and Shanghai Normal University Affiliated First Primary School. The contestants passionately recited touching and uplifting heroic epics around touching historical events or tear jerking heroic stories, showcasing the charm of Shanghai's heroic commentators.
After more than 4 hours of competition, the judging panel finally awarded Weng Yi, a guide from Longhua Martyrs Cemetery, Wang Xiaoya, a guide from Song Qingling Cemetery, Song Jue, a guide from Jiading Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery, Li Rong, a guide from Pudong New Area Martyrs Memorial Facilities Protection Center, Wang Ying, a guide from Longhua Martyrs Cemetery, and Zhao Fei, a volunteer guide from Shanghai Normal University, the title of "Gold Medal Guide". They will also represent Shanghai in the National Martyrs Guide Competition.
