It is reported that in July, Shanghai border inspection authorities have inspected more than 2.2 million people entering and exiting the country, as well as 16000 vehicles, which have recovered to 52.4% and 66.7% of the same period in 2019, respectively. Among them, the two major international airports, Pudong and Hongqiao, have inspected a total of 2.143 million inbound and outbound personnel and 14000 flights, an increase of 24.3% and 16.7% respectively compared to June.

Among them, the passenger flow to popular tourist destinations such as Southeast Asia, Japan and South Korea, and Hong Kong and Macao accounts for more than half of the total outbound passengers at Pudong Airport.
At the same time, foreign inbound passengers arriving at Pudong Airport for business, family visits, and other purposes are also increasing. In July, the daily average number of foreign tourists entering the port exceeded 5300, an increase of 5.8% compared to the previous month. During this period, the Shanghai Border Inspection Station and the Shanghai Airport Border Inspection Station issued 144 hours of temporary entry permits without visas for more than 2800 eligible foreign passengers, creating a better entry and exit experience for international travelers with short-term needs in China.
At present, Pudong Airport has opened international passenger flights to more than 40 countries and regions, with an average of over 300 daily inbound and outbound international passenger flights, an increase of 20% compared to the previous month. "To cope with peak passenger flow, we continuously optimize service command and scheduling, allocate police resources in real time, optimize customs clearance processes, open sufficient channels in advance, and scientifically use fast channel diversion to timely guide eligible passengers to the fast channel special area for inspection, reducing passenger waiting time." According to Hu Shiyun, Director of the Border Inspection Department of Shanghai Airport Border Inspection Station, about 900000 passengers have enjoyed the convenience of border inspection fast channel clearance in the past month of summer transportation.
In addition to the continued popularity of air travel, cruise tourism has also added fuel to the summer season. On July 30th, the "China Merchants Yidun" international cruise ship carrying more than 390 passengers completed the border inspection procedures and slowly departed from the Shanghai Port International Passenger Transport Center pier for Japan. With the gradual resumption of international cruise routes in Shanghai, traveling by cruise has become a choice for many citizens. According to the statistics of Shanghai Border Inspection Station Pujiang Border Inspection Station, since July, the station has inspected a total of 20 international cruise ships and inspected more than 19000 people entering and exiting the country along with the ships.
