Shanghai Fourth Hospital's normalized remote multidisciplinary consultations benefit Tibetan compatriots, spanning 2700 kilometers in Maqin County | People's Hospital | Discipline
On the afternoon of July 3rd, the People's Hospital of Maqin County, Golog Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, and the Fourth People's Hospital of Shanghai, affiliated with Tongji University, officially completed the construction of a "remote medical cooperation network" between the two places, and organized a high-quality remote multidisciplinary consultation spanning 2700 kilometers. This move greatly promotes the sharing of medical resources between Qingdao and Shanghai, allowing Tibetan compatriots on the plateau to enjoy high-quality medical services in Shanghai at their doorstep.
It is understood that in recent years, Shanghai Fourth Hospital has continued to assist and guide the "group style" medical assistance work with an average altitude of 4200 meters and a distance of 2700 kilometers. By inviting high-level clinical medical experts and introducing more advanced remote communication technology, it has helped to consolidate and expand the achievements of health poverty alleviation and effectively connect with the revitalization of rural areas. It has also helped to cultivate medical personnel in high-altitude areas, striving to gradually narrow the gap between the two places in basic medical and health services and health levels.
After careful organization in the early stage, Shanghai Fourth Hospital continuously improved and improved its remote collaboration network around medical technology support and information technology support. At the same time, it guided and assisted Maqin County People's Hospital in completing the construction of the "Remote Medicine Center".
In this remote multidisciplinary consultation, two critical cases were selected for in-patient diagnosis and treatment in the People's Hospital of Maqin County. One patient was a massive cerebral hemorrhage with minimally invasive surgery combined with hypertension and diabetes, and the other patient was diagnosed as "septic shock, biliary obstruction with infection, multiple organ failure, liver echinococcosis after surgery, lung infection, severe malnutrition, electrolyte acid-base balance disorder".
During a 150 minute remote consultation, the two patients received comprehensive analysis and guidance from 15 renowned medical experts from Shanghai Fourth Hospital. The experts unanimously affirmed the proactive and effective treatment plan of Maqin County People's Hospital in the early stage, and conducted detailed analysis and focused discussion from different professional perspectives, ultimately determining the subsequent treatment plan.
"This high-quality remote multidisciplinary consultation marks the official establishment of the 'Remote Medicine Center' of Maqin County People's Hospital. This year, Maqin County People's Hospital will also have more remote medicine projects to be launched, including remote imaging, remote electrocardiogram, remote ultrasound, remote pathology, remote education, remote surgical guidance, etc." said Zhu Xinpu, a member of the fifth batch of Shanghai Youth Aid Cadres and Talents and a key national assistance to rural revitalization in Maqin County People's Hospital.
