Expected to send 3.4 million passengers, the first day of the Dragon Boat Festival holiday marks the peak demand for passenger flow on the Yangtze River Delta Railway
June 22nd is the first day of the Dragon Boat Festival holiday. The reporter learned from China Railway Shanghai Group Co., Ltd. that the Yangtze River Delta Railway will experience a peak passenger flow on that day, with an estimated 3.4 million passengers sent. Among them, the Shanghai Railway Station is expected to send 588000 passengers on the same day.
According to the railway department, the passenger flow during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday is mainly composed of medium and short distance travel. Short distance passenger flow is mainly concentrated between central cities and tourist cities in the Yangtze River Delta, while intermediate passenger flow is mainly concentrated within the 4-hour high-speed rail travel range. Among them, Fujian, Shandong, Henan, Jiangxi, Hunan, Hubei and other areas are the key directions for passenger flow. According to the passenger flow, the Yangtze River Delta Railway plans to open 186 additional passenger trains to Beijing, Xiamen, Nanchang, Mount Huangshan, Lianyungang and other directions, and organize reconnection operation for 242 multiple unit trains.
The overall passenger flow of the Yangtze River Delta railway during this year's Dragon Boat Festival is expected to exceed more than 20% of the same period in 2019. On the day before the Dragon Boat Festival, the railway sent 2.935 million passengers, an increase of 18.5% compared to 2019.
The passenger flow has rebounded, and there are also more passengers with inquiry needs. The characteristic of Shanghai Hongqiao Station - the "Seven Color Service Card" has attracted many passengers to like it. Zhou Xuan, the head of the "Xinshang" service studio at Shanghai Station, designed seven colors of small cards based on the terrain and passenger needs around Hongqiao Station, representing different aspects of information, including ticket purchasing methods, ticketing processing, surrounding transportation, lost items, and more. "When answering passengers' inquiries, hand over a piece of paper to help them quickly understand, and even if they forget, they can take it out again."
Xiao Zhao, a senior high school student from Kunshan, Jiangsu, took the G8385 high-speed train with his parents to Shanghai Hongqiao Station, preparing to transfer to the subway to Pudong International Airport. After learning about it, Zhou Xuan handed over a yellow card and said, "Hello, this is a transfer service card. The station transfer information is all on it." Xiao Zhao noticed that the card was similar in size to a phone and could be placed inside the phone case, making it easy to access and not easily lost.
Colorful cards help travelers travel fast and well during the Dragon Boat Festival, making intangible services accessible.
