Season 2 "Exploring the Source" extends its reach nationwide, with Shan Jixiang serving as the general consultant for culture, audience, and exploration
The season of exploring the origin of Chinese civilization in "Museum City" on Beijing TV is currently airing. This season, with the theme of "Exploring the Origins of Chinese Civilization", museums and cultural heritage sites are the main objects of exploration. From a diverse perspective, the era value of excellent traditional Chinese culture is interpreted, and a group is formed to carry out civilization exploration from the source. The five characteristics of Chinese civilization, namely continuity, innovation, unity, inclusiveness, and peace, are vividly explained.
Museum City has upgraded from exploring museums in Beijing in the first season to tracing the origins of museums nationwide. It not only adds regional richness, but also deeply showcases multiple dimensions of museums, national treasures, and historical culture, allowing audiences to have a deeper, broader, and closer sense of participation in cultural heritage.
On the afternoon of the 28th, the program creation seminar was held at Beijing Radio and Television Station. At a special session of the seminar, Yu Junsheng, Deputy Minister of the Propaganda Department of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Group and Director of the Beijing Radio and Television Station, presented an appointment letter to Shan Jixiang, President of the Chinese Cultural Relics Society and Director of the Academic Committee of the Palace Museum, as well as relevant cooperative enterprises, to appoint Shan Jixiang as the general consultant for the program "City of Museums".
Yu Junsheng believes that the content of the program should be more carefully polished, and at the same time, more emphasis should be placed on diversity. In the future, whether it is young enthusiasts of cultural relics, collectors of cultural relics, or experts with extensive research in a certain field, they can participate as viewers or guests, increasing the vividness, fun, interactivity, and visibility of the program.
Dan Jixiang believes that this season's program has moved from Beijing to the whole country, continuously strengthening the connection between traditional Chinese culture and real life, using language acceptable to the people and revealing and even participatory methods, building a communication bridge with the audience, especially young audiences.
Wang Wei, Director of the History Department of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Chairman of the Chinese Archaeological Society, and Chief Expert of the First to Fourth Stages of the Chinese Civilization Exploration Project, stated that Chinese civilization is a continuous and continuous civilization that has continued to this day. Tracing the origins of some of its inventions and creations would be an extraordinary journey. This program uses easy to understand expressions to make the audience understand that the continuity of Chinese civilization is reflected in the continuous flow of history spanning five thousand years.
Zhong Chengxiang, a member of the Central Museum of Culture and History and a renowned literary critic, believes that this program has a leading role in building, popularizing, and improving the awareness of natural resources in various sectors of society. It is also a concrete practice of "summarizing Chinese experience with Chinese principles and elevating Chinese experience into Chinese theory.".
"Strong disclosure has opened up a magical world, and this kind of exploration is what young people love the most." said Leng Song, Secretary General and Researcher of the World Media Research Center at the Institute of Journalism and Communication of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. The program connects cultural relics between different museums, adds clever post production packaging and special effects materials, and coordinates the relationship between "hidden and visible", making the main storyline and hidden lines complement each other, and making the sense of disclosure more layered and rich. For example, starting from the origin of wine, the chapter on wine and civilization cleverly connects wine with etiquette, wine with poets, and the socialization and marketization of wine, most directly exploring the development of wine culture, reflecting the inclusiveness of Chinese civilization in different aspects of wine, and reaching out to more young people's fields.
"From the first season to the second season, from small museums to large sites, from Beijing to the whole country, and from Beijing's history to the exploration of the origin of civilization," said Guo Jingning, director of the Beijing Institute of Archaeology. "Small films reflect big scenes, small films reflect big eras, and small films reflect the main laws of revolution, so as to truly raise the flag, ride the wind, and revolve around the center, shouldering the responsibility of maintaining the unity and peace of Chinese civilization.".
