On June 19th, the new exhibition "Empirical China: Songze Liangzhu Civilization Archaeological Exhibition" at the Shanghai Museum was launched. The exhibition focuses on the lower reaches of the Yangtze River from 5800 to 4300 years ago, representing the greatest achievements of the first development peak of civilization represented by Songze culture and Liangzhu culture, and providing archaeological evidence of the development history of Chinese civilization for over 5000 years.

This is the second cultural relics and archaeology exhibition, following the successful opening work of the "Why China" cultural relics and archaeology exhibition series held last year, "Dwelling in China - Henan Xia Shang Zhou Dynasty Civilization Exhibition".

The exhibits gather 358 unearthed cultural relics collected by 19 museums and archaeological institutions across the country. More than 90% of them are precious cultural relics, and more than one-third are the latest archaeological achievements that have made their debut. The exhibition starts from four major sections: ancient land, rice cultivation, handicrafts, and jade artifacts. It will lead the audience to appreciate the charm of prehistoric culture and art in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, visit famous archaeological sites such as Dongshan Village, Lingjiatan, Liangzhu, and Fuquan Mountain, and appreciate the charm of prehistoric culture and art in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River.

The "Why China" cultural relics and archaeology exhibition series, including this exhibition and the third exhibition of the series focusing on the Sichuan civilization of Sanxingdui and Jinsha, which will be held early next year, will be open for free, and visitors must make an appointment to visit.
