【 Malizi 】 Camera peeks into the "Eye of Evil" behind Pan | Resources | Evil
On a night in May 2022, a bored mechanic named Pan was browsing a website when he noticed someone posting an advertisement on a Tieba selling camera cracking resources. Pan, who was restless in his heart, was aroused by the images in the advertisement and then added the other person's WeChat account.
The seller claims that they can crack the surveillance of private places such as family bedrooms, hotels, etc. They can see multiple cameras from the server's line, obtain information about others talking, and send some surveillance videos and some screenshots to Pan for free to "experience".
In search of excitement, Pan purchased the above-mentioned camera cracking resources and prepared to embark on his voyeuristic journey.
Under the guidance of the other party, Pan first installed an app on his phone, and then scanned the QR code provided by the other party through the software to obtain control permissions for 15 servers, which are connected to more than 50 surveillance cameras. Pan can use these controlled cameras to peep into the privacy of others, and use mobile software to monitor, record, take screenshots, and replay the camera content in real time. However, the person being monitored is unaware.
In less than a few days, Pan scanned all over 50 cameras. Subsequently, he was dissatisfied and harbored evil thoughts, intending to resell these surveillance resources and make a profit by charging fees, using the sale of peeping video resources as his "side business".
On August 15, 2022, Pan was arrested by the public security organs and truthfully confessed the above facts upon arrival. On October 9, 2022, the Jinshan Branch of Shanghai Public Security Bureau transferred Pan to the procuratorial organs for review and prosecution on suspicion of illegal control of computer information systems.
After examination by the procuratorial organs, Pan obtained control rights over someone else's camera equipment without the permission of the online device holder, in order to pry into privacy. As of the incident, there are still 37 cameras under Pan's control and available for viewing. At the same time, Pan illegally profited more than 10000 yuan by selling the account and password of other people's camera devices he purchased for profit.
On December 9, 2022, the People's Procuratorate of Jinshan District prosecuted the defendant Pan for the crime of illegal control of computer information systems. In addition to punishing Pan severely according to law, the Jinshan District Procuratorate also supervised the public security organs to file cases against 8 upstream suspect and prosecute 41 downstream suspect.
