At 7:30 pm on July 21st, 82 year old pianist Yin Chengzong walked onto the stage of the Shanghai Symphony Hall. Despite walking slowly for just over ten meters, he held his head high and his chest high. The musicians stood up to applaud him. Sitting in front of the piano, he presented to the audience a piano concerto piece called "Yellow River," which had been performed for thousands of times.
In the late 1960s, young musician Yin Chengzong and five colleagues from the Central Conservatory of Music adapted this great musical work into a piano concerto, and "The Yellow River" became the first piano concerto of New China.
The concert was fully booked.
Although his legs and feet were inconvenient, Yin Lao's finger strength was still agile. He presented the grandeur of "The Yellow River" to the audience.

Two weeks ago, also on this stage, conductor Jin Yukuang, born in the 2000s, led the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra to perform the suites "Three Body," "Metaverse," and "Planet," opening the prelude to this year's Shanghai Summer Music Festival with his longing for the stars and the sea. On the afternoon of July 15th, at the newly opened popular cultural and tourism check-in space Longhua Pagoda Shadow in Xuhui District, young artists performed a pop-up music performance for the audience. During the summer music festival, young artists left behind beautiful music and their performances at many city landmarks, from the Hengfu Historical Scenic Area, Xiangyang Park, Heishi M+, to Xujiahui Academy.
