To adhere to this point without wavering, Wu Jinglian: Further promote the cause of reform and opening up in the new situation
On June 3rd, a roundtable meeting with the theme of "Starting China's economic reform again under the background of the new technological revolution" was held at the Shanghai Social Science Hall. Renowned scholars from relevant fields across the country gathered together to engage in in-depth discussions from global perspectives, historical changes, theoretical bottlenecks, practical issues, policy space, and other dimensions, in order to provide suggestions and suggestions for promoting the high-quality development of the Chinese economy under the background of the new technological revolution.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Wang Weisong, Secretary of the Party Group and Full time Vice Chairman of the Shanghai Social Federation. Pan Min, Deputy Minister of the Propaganda Department of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and Director of the Municipal Civilization Office, delivered a speech, and Wu Jinglian, an economist from the Development Research Center of the State Council, delivered a special speech. The keynote speech segment was presided over by Ren Xiaowen, the Secretary of the Party Committee of the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences and a member of the Party Group and full-time Vice Chairman of the Shanghai Federation of Social Sciences. Jiang Xiaojuan, a member of the Standing Committee of the 13th National People's Congress and Vice Chairman of the Social Construction Committee of the National People's Congress, Professor Yao Yang, Dean of the National Development Research Institute of Peking University, and Professor Zhang Jun, Dean of the School of Economics of Fudan University, gave keynote speeches.
Pan Min pointed out that since the reform and opening up, the sustained and rapid development of the Chinese economy has received widespread attention from the world. Meanwhile, various new technologies are profoundly changing our production and lifestyle, industrial development patterns, and social organizational forms. In the face of new phenomena, opportunities, and challenges in China's economic reform under the background of the new technological revolution, only by accurately understanding the changes in the world, comprehensively and deeply grasping the development situation and policy orientation of China's economy, can we better promote stable and far-reaching development of the Chinese economy, and achieve high-quality development. Shanghai is a national hub for philosophical and social science research, and the Shanghai Federation of Social Sciences insists on uniting social science workers to find Chinese answers to global issues. As we enter a new era and embark on a new journey, academic institutions and theoretical journals should better unite experts and scholars, enhance their ability to respond to reality, improve their academic thinking, expand their theoretical innovation, more vigorously build philosophy and social sciences with Chinese characteristics, and help comprehensively promote Chinese path to modernization.
Wu Jinglian pointed out that this round table meeting has put forward a good topic that requires us to seriously consider how to further promote China's reform and opening up under the new situation, and how to further achieve high-quality development of the Chinese economy under the promotion of the new technological revolution. At the same time, we should not only pay attention to new phenomena and solve new problems, but also review the important basic problems that have emerged in the past forty years. At present, we should adhere to the unwavering principle of "fully leveraging the decisive role of the market in resource allocation" proposed at the Third Plenary Session of the 18th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and reiterated in the report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and accelerate the construction of a socialist market economy under the rule of law.
Jiang Xiaojuan pointed out that the construction of digital government and the transformation of government functions should comprehensively empower economic and social development. We need to strengthen public services and promote the digitization of government services through digital technology; We must also adhere to digital market-oriented services, where the government is online but not present in relevant fields, and we need to better empower the market. At present, the boundary issues between the government, the market, and society are facing new opportunities and challenges. It is necessary to analyze and think with new concepts and logic that are in line with the digital age. On the one hand, it is necessary to further transform government functions, improve the government responsibility system, and lay a solid foundation for the construction of a digital government; On the other hand, in the face of the dismantling and restructuring of the industrial chain, changes in social organization methods, and the expansion and acceleration of job loss and regeneration, the government should pay attention to and care for the potentially affected groups in the rapidly changing society from a fair and just perspective in advance.
