Zhang Tong elected as the Mayor of Nantong City
On August 24, 2023, the Third Session of the 16th People's Congress of Nantong City elected Zhang Tong as the Mayor of Nantong City.

According to public information, Zhang Tong was born in October 1971 as a graduate student at the Provincial Party School and a member of the Communist Party of China. She has served as a member of the Standing Committee of the Huai'an Municipal Party Committee, Minister of the Organization Department, Deputy Secretary of the Huai'an Municipal Party Committee, and Chairman of the Jiangsu Provincial Women's Federation.
Last March, Zhang Tong was appointed as the Director and Party Secretary of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security, marking his new appointment.
Wu Xinming, who resigned as the mayor of Nantong, became the secretary of the Nantong Municipal Party Committee in March this year.
