On the evening of June 19, 2023, Director General Yang Tao of the US Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs briefed the Chinese and foreign media on the visit of US Secretary of State Antony Blinken to China. Yang Tao introduced the five consensus reached between China and the United States.
Firstly, both sides agree to jointly implement the important consensus reached at the Bali meeting between the two heads of state, effectively manage differences, and promote dialogue, exchange, and cooperation.
The second is that both sides agree to maintain high-level exchanges. Secretary of State Antony Blinken invited State Councilor and Foreign Minister Qin Gang to visit the United States. Qin Gang expressed his willingness to visit the United States at the convenience of both sides.
The third is that both sides agree to continue advancing the consultation on the guiding principles of China US relations.
The fourth is that both sides agree to continue advancing the consultation of the Sino US Joint Working Group and resolving specific issues in Sino US relations.
The fifth is that both sides agree to encourage the expansion of cultural and educational exchanges between the two countries, actively explore increasing passenger flights between China and the United States, welcome more students, scholars, and business people from each other's countries to visit each other's countries, and provide support and convenience for this.
