Xinhua News Agency+| Growing 1000 tons of grain at a "speed of life and death" | Granary | Speed of life and death
Tianjin, August 10th (Xinhua) - Near midnight, in Lujie Village, Yangliuqing Town, Xiqing District, Tianjin, villagers located in the Dongdian Flood Storage and Detention Area have all been relocated. Only Liu Jinyue, a major grain grower, has flashing car lights in front of his granary. The loader poured the last bucket of grain into the cargo box of the transport vehicle, stirring up waves of dust. As the transport vehicle drove away with a full load, everyone present relaxed their anxious hearts.
"It's not easy!" Zhang Yifu, Secretary of the Party Branch and Director of the Village Committee of Lujie Village, couldn't help but say. After the villagers living in the flood storage and detention area and nearly 1000 tons of grain were all transferred on August 3rd, 29 year old Zhang Yifu was very pleased. "We not only protected the safety of the villagers, but also safeguarded their hard work."

Affected by heavy rainfall since July 28th, 21 rivers in the Haihe River Basin have experienced floods exceeding the warning level, of which 8 rivers have experienced the largest floods since measured data. Tianjin quickly mobilized various forces and activated the Dongdian Flood Storage and Detention Zone, with some areas belonging to Lujie Village located within the Dongdian Flood Storage and Detention Zone.
On July 31st, Zhang Yifu received a notice to complete the transfer and resettlement of all personnel and property in the Dongdian Flood Storage and Detention Area on August 3rd. She and other village cadres quickly took action to assist the villagers in the transfer.
Liu Jinyue, 60 years old this year, frowned and shook her head when she heard that everyone was going to move out. "I'm leaving, what about the grain in the granary?"
Liu Jinyue pulled Zhang Yifu to his granary, and Zhang Yifu, born in the 1990s, was shocked by the scene before him. The golden wheat was piled up like a small mountain, and one golden "little hill after another" stretched out in the warehouse.
"So much grain, it's all the sweat and blood of the farmers!" Zhang Yifu made up his mind, not only to ensure the safe transfer of all personnel, but also to help the villagers transfer the grain as much as possible, "not a single grain of wheat can be wasted.".

Finding transportation vehicles, contacting warehouses, and handling agricultural machinery and equipment... Time is tight and the task is heavy. With the rapid rise of water levels in rivers such as the Daqing River, a "life and death speed" of rescuing grain has officially begun.
At 4am on August 1st, 10 transport vehicles and 2 loaders drove into Lujie Village. On August 2nd, all personnel who needed to be transferred in the village had been safely evacuated, but there were still nearly 800 tons of wheat and 20 tons of rod residue used for feeding livestock that had not been transported out.
This is really urgent, Zhang Yifu. Early on August 3rd, she came to Liu Jinyue's granary to closely monitor the transportation progress. Ten transport vehicles came and went, but for some reason, at 3 pm, the transportation speed suddenly slowed down.
"The road ahead is blocked! A car is transporting containers," said the returning driver.
"First, tighten the transportation of grain vehicles!" Zhao Jinyue, the Minister of the Armed Forces of Yangliuqing Town, coordinated and commanded on site, allowing the grain transport vehicles to pass smoothly as soon as possible. "These grains are the fruits of farmers' hard work, and it's a pity that they were soaked in floods."

All of these were seen by Liu Jinyue: "The town cadres and village cadres have been with us from morning till night, helping us solve difficulties. I am really moved in my heart."
On the late night of the 3rd, as the last batch of food was safely transported away, Zhang Yifu temporarily breathed a sigh of relief. The "life and death speed" of rescuing food directly prevented farmers from losing more than 3 million yuan.
According to Wang Yong, Deputy Director of the Office of the Tianjin Flood Control and Drought Relief Command and Deputy Director of the Emergency Management Bureau, more than 30000 residents in the Dongdian Flood Storage and Detention Area in Tianjin have completed resettlement and relocation before the arrival of the flood. In addition to the transfer of personnel from the Yongding River floodplain and the Dahuangbao flood storage and detention area, more than 80000 people have been resettled and transferred in Tianjin after this round of flood.
The flood eventually flooded into Liu Jinyue's granary and the fields and orchards of Lujie Village. Liu Jinyue said, "There must still be some losses, but we have done our best. As long as people are okay, there is hope for the future."
