Xi'an, Shaanxi: A job fair at the doorstep opens up in the hearts of the people. Positions | Jurisdictions | Hearts
More than ten tables, four or five exhibition boards, and one banner. On the afternoon of June 9th, a slightly rudimentary job fair quietly kicked off at the entrance of Tumen International Shopping Center in Lianhu District, Xi'an City.
Sun Qian, who had just left the shopping center, was attracted by the job fair at her doorstep. She asked carefully, "I live nearby and my current job is quite far from home. I would like to find another sales job nearby. Are there any positions I can recommend?"
This is the "Home Gate Recruitment Fair" Tumen Street Office special session launched by Xi'an City, with 15 enterprises participating, including catering, hotels, property management, hospitals, and other types, bringing a total of more than 460 positions. There is not a large crowd of people at job fairs, but there are still many passing citizens and pre registered job seekers who come to consult despite the high temperature.
"The 'Home Recruitment Fair' is mainly aimed at unemployed individuals, migrant workers, and unemployed college students who have left school. In order to facilitate public participation, it is generally held near residential areas, parks, and squares with high pedestrian traffic. This is the 19th event organized by Lianhu District this year." Bai Bo, Director of the Employment Service Center of Lianhu District, Xi'an City, said, "The recruitment fair is not only held at the doorstep of the public, but also provides mostly positions from enterprises within the jurisdiction of the street office, better meeting the needs of job seekers who are 'close to home'."
At the beginning of the job fair, 26 year old Li Ruian went straight to a technology company. After a brief conversation, the time and location for the next round of interviews were determined. Li Ruian told reporters that he had not found a suitable job since graduating from Xi'an Jiaotong University with a major in transportation last year. "A few days ago, the street office called me and recommended two suitable companies for me, namely sales and transportation positions. Today, I came to the scene to have a look and after chatting for a few words, I found that I was quite satisfied."
At the job fair, job seekers are having a conversation with company representatives.
Compared to traditional job fairs that are large and comprehensive, "doorstep job fairs" focus more on "small and refined". Song Li, the "Home Employment" service specialist of Tumen Street Office, said, "There are some elderly unemployed individuals and unemployed college students who have left school in our jurisdiction. The positions will be as precise as possible to meet the needs of these two groups."
The "small and sophisticated" job fair at the doorstep is also popular among enterprises. People occasionally come to inquire in front of the booth of Xi'an Tianhai Kesheng Human Resources Co., Ltd. HR supervisor Jia Qiannan said, "This is our second time participating in this type of job fair. We received over 20 resumes in the first round, and some people have already joined. This small-scale and precise job fair is more suitable for the needs of our small and medium-sized enterprises."
In the sunset, dozens of job seekers returned satisfied with job invitations. "For the job seekers who participated in today's conference, we will also conduct phone follow-up, and if they are not satisfied, they can continue to be recommended. From early promotion, job matching, on-site negotiations, and follow-up visits, many people have expressed that job fairs held at their doorstep have also entered the hearts of the public, hoping to help more people find satisfactory jobs." Bai Bo said.
