The concept and theme of "Five Stars Out of the East" are derived from a national first-class cultural relic - "Five Stars Out of the East for China" Han Dynasty brocade arm guards. In October 1995, members of the academic inspection team of the Sino Japanese Niya Site discovered this brocade in an ancient tomb at the Niya Site in Minfeng County, Hotan Prefecture. It was 18.5 centimeters long and 12.5 centimeters wide, with eight seal script Chinese characters on it: "Five Stars Leaving the East for China".

The drama takes brocade armguards as the starting point, telling the touching story of the Han Dynasty border guard "Feng" standing between Jingjue Ancient City and the son of the northerner leader "Jiante" and the daughter of Jingjue leader "Chunjun". From being at odds with each other, from not knowing each other to deeply recognizing each other, they form a deep friendship. After nearly two hours of performance, the fusion of different dance and music elements presents the great diversity and inclusiveness of Chinese culture.
In the agricultural dance segment performed at the launch ceremony, frogs are used as the main imagery for summer farming work. Dancers depict a scene of summer labor through dance postures such as stomping their feet and shaking their heads amidst the lively and repetitive singing of the Han Yuefu's "Changge Xing". The overall atmosphere of the dance section is lively and simple, expressing the satisfaction and joy of the farmers, as well as showcasing the agricultural culture and spiritual wealth of the Han Dynasty's economic foundation.
It is understood that the dance drama "Five Stars Out of the East" is jointly produced, produced, and performed by Beijing and Xinjiang.
