Regarding the topic of protecting women's rights, Mirziyoyeva has repeatedly made public statements.
In June 2022, a video of Uzbekistan's groom hitting the bride on the spot of his wedding went viral online. The video shows that just because the bride won in the mini game, the groom, in front of everyone, fiercely hammered the bride's head with his hand.
Regarding this, Mirziyoyeva condemned online, "It doesn't matter whether the incident happened two days ago or two years ago, or where it happened. What matters is our reaction to the incident. If you and the people around you are shocked and angry about it, it means there is a healthy social environment around you, but if you hear 'women should lose to men' and 'it's all the bride's fault', that is the true misfortune and disaster."
She also said, "We all hope to live in a civilized, prosperous, and happy country, which means that everyone should firmly believe that violence against women is unacceptable, and we should not remain silent in such situations. Most importantly, while condemning the groom and empathetic bride, you should not make mistakes on your children. For example, prohibiting them from studying after school, trying to get their children married early, and not allowing them to live their own lives, etc."

We have made long and hard efforts for it, but we can prove that these amendments are absolutely necessary in our laws to make them more progressiveness and humane."
