Wagner once wanted to acquire a nuclear device? Kremlin responds by stating that the Kremlin nuclear device
According to Reuters on July 12th, the Kremlin refuted the Ukrainian military intelligence agency's claim that the Russian mercenary Wagner Group had intended to acquire a nuclear device in a failed mutiny launched on June 24th.
Kirilo Budanov, the head of Ukraine's military intelligence agency, previously stated that armed members of the Wagner Group had entered the Voronezh-45 nuclear base on June 24th and planned to acquire small nuclear devices from the Soviet era in order to "raise the stakes" in the mutiny. But Budanov did not provide any relevant evidence.
According to reports, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov responded when asked about Budanov's statement, "The Kremlin has not received such news."
"This looks more like false information," Peskov said
