The Meiyu region extends from Yichang, Hubei to the eastern coast of China, with a southern boundary of 28 ° N and a northern boundary of 34 ° N. The main affected areas include six provinces and one city, including Shanghai, Jiangsu, Anhui, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Hubei, and Hunan. Wuhan, Nanchang, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Hefei, Changsha and other major cities are typical cities of the Meiyu period.
When does Meiyu usually appear?
In meteorology, the start time of the plum rain is called "entering the plum". The onset of plum blossoms in most years is concentrated in the first and middle of June. Some years of plum rain are also very unusual, with a large deviation in the morning and evening. For example, in the earliest years of 1995 and 2016, the rainy season began on May 25th, while in the latest year of 2005, the rainy season did not arrive until June 26th.

What is "Violent Plum"?
"Violent plum rain" is actually a description of heavy and intense plum rain in recent years.
The amount of rainfall in the plum rain season often directly affects the distribution of drought and flood in that year, such as "violent plum". The rain keeps falling, and the plum rain area faces not only damp and mildew, but also severe flood conditions in Rivers and Lakes.

The strongest rain belt in the next 10 days will be maintained in the area south of the Yangtze River, with a long duration of heavy rainfall and a large cumulative amount of rainfall, which can be called a periodic "violent plum".
Special reminder: Friends in the southern region need to pay attention to local forecasts and warnings this week, and try to avoid heavy rainfall periods and stay away from disaster prone areas when traveling.
