Victory in the first battle! Comprehensive test and assessment of the final stage of the universal hydrogen and oxygen for the new generation of medium-sized launch vehicles | Hydrogen and oxygen | Launch vehicle
Recently, the 3.35-meter-diameter universal hydrogen and oxygen final stage developed by China Aerospace Science and Technology Group Co., Ltd. successfully completed a comprehensive test of a 10 ton hydrogen and oxygen engine on the 101st test bench of the Sixth Academy of Aerospace Science and Technology Group, marking a milestone achievement in China's advanced hydrogen and oxygen final stage system. Among them, the final stage of universal hydrogen and oxygen and the engine were jointly developed by the Beijing 11 Institute of the First and Sixth Research Institutes of the Aerospace Science and Technology Group.
The 3.35-meter-diameter universal hydrogen oxygen final stage is a high-performance rocket module developed using a universal, product-based, and modular development approach, benchmarking against world-class standards. It is built on the basis of the existing 3-meter-diameter hydrogen oxygen final stage and meets the needs of the future generation of medium-sized launch vehicles to enhance their capabilities, with a broad market.
This hydrogen oxygen final stage layout is a 10 ton high-performance hydrogen oxygen engine, which has the characteristics of high specific impulse, large thrust, and no pollution. The entire test drive was carried out under pulling and deviating conditions, and the engine worked normally, further verifying the stability and reliability of the engine. In addition, many new technology assessment projects were also installed, promoting the continuous improvement of hydrogen and oxygen final stage technology level.
The new technology assessment includes: the first combination of closed self generating turbocharging system and engine, the first combination of electrostatic servo and engine, the new process of laser welding nozzle, and the new measurement method of temperature indicating paint.
This test successfully initiated the high-density implementation phase of the 3.35-meter diameter universal hydrogen oxygen final stage system level ground test. Subsequently, large-scale ground tests such as low-temperature static and full system power testing of large-diameter common bottom storage tanks will be carried out one after another, continuously verifying and breaking through new technologies, processes, and methods, striving to create a high-performance carrier rocket module, and promoting the continuous improvement of China's hydrogen and oxygen final stage technology level and rocket carrying capacity.
