According to the website of the Star Spangled Banner on August 4th, according to the US State Department and sources, two US veterans were killed in a drone attack in Ukraine last month. They voluntarily joined the war and fought against the Russian army together with the Ukrainian army.
According to reports, former Army officer Andrew Owen Weber and former Marine machine gunner Lance Lawrence were killed in a military operation in eastern Ukraine on July 29th. The US State Department confirmed on the 4th that two unnamed US citizens had died in Ukraine.
On the 4th, Ukrainian soldiers released drones in the frontline area of Zaporizhzhia.
This war is believed to have claimed the lives of at least 16 Americans, but there are currently no official statistics available.

Ryan Olyri, an American who fought alongside Ukrainian ground forces and served as a company sergeant, wrote on Twitter that Lawrence died while providing cover for his comrades.
According to Lieutenant Ryan Bruce, spokesperson for the Marine Corps, Lawrence joined the US Marine Corps in 2013 and was sent to the Red Sea and Mediterranean in 2015.
According to Weber's LinkedIn page, he volunteered to join the Ukrainian Armed Forces in May and voluntarily joined the 59th Motorized Brigade. He graduated from West Point Military Academy in the United States in 2005 and served in the Army for ten years. Army spokesperson Heather Hagen stated that he has been sent to Iraq and twice to Afghanistan.
