According to Yonhap News Agency on June 30th, according to the South Korean Ministry of Defense, the US B-52H bomber conducted a joint exercise with the South Korean Air Force over the Korean Peninsula on the same day. According to reports, this is the second time in two months that B-52H bombers have flown to the Korean Peninsula, just two weeks after the US Navy's cruise missile nuclear submarine "Michigan" docked at the Busan combat base in South Korea on the 16th. In addition to the B-52H bomber, South Korean Air Force F-35A and KF-16 fighter jets, as well as US F-16 and F-15E fighter jets, participated in the exercise. The South Korean Ministry of Defense stated that this is the result of the increased frequency and intensity of the US military's strategic weapon deployment to the peninsula, which can have the same effect as regular deployment. According to the report, the South Korean Ministry of Defense pointed out that through this joint air exercise, the South Korean and US militaries have enhanced their joint combat capabilities by combining their high-end conventional and US nuclear capabilities, highlighting their firm determination to strengthen their joint defense posture. The South Korean military will continue to regularly conduct joint exercises with US strategic bombers on the peninsula, strengthen the use of extended deterrence measures, and achieve "relying on strength to maintain peace" based on the overwhelming power of the South Korean US alliance. The B-52H bomber is a long-range strategic bomber capable of carrying air to ground nuclear missiles with a range of up to 200 kilometers and flying 31 tons of bombs over 6400 kilometers to bomb targets.
