Urgent for harmless treatment, boss: Nearly 800000 kilograms of fish have died, floods have hit an aquaculture farm in Zhuozhou Video | manpower | boss
On August 5th, a netizen in Zhuozhou posted a video on social media seeking help, stating that a local aquaculture farm urgently needed people to pick up fish, and the video showed dead fish in one area. Jimu News contacted the person in charge of the aquaculture farm in the video, who explained that the flood caused the death of nearly 800000 kilograms of fish in the farm. The dead fish began to smell from the 4th, and there is an urgent need for manpower to collect and treat the dead fish harmless.
Jimu News reporter learned that the aquaculture farm is located in Shiqiao Village, Baichigan Town, Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province. On August 5th, Mr. Cui, the person in charge of the farm, told Jimu News reporters that the farm covers an area of nearly 100 acres and has fish species such as yellow croaker and sturgeon, weighing nearly 800000 pounds in total. Many of the fish are breeding species that have been raised for many years.
Fish choked to death in the farm
Since the flood hit Zhuozhou, all the fish in Mr. Cui's farm have been choked to death. "A large part of the fish has drifted out with the flood, and the rest of the fish will be picked up by more than 20 people in the factory, probably not enough in 10 days." Mr. Cui said that the flood has submerged the entire farm, with an estimated loss of tens of millions of yuan.
Mr. Cui said that after the farm was destroyed by floods, he has reported to the local government department and professional institutions will carry out harmless treatment of dead fish. Currently, the biggest difficulty for the farm is the lack of manpower to collect dead fish. "The fish have been smelling since the 4th, and if not treated, it will only become more and more smelly, causing pollution to the environment and potentially causing epidemics."

Mr. Cui also stated that he has sought help from relevant departments, but the rescue efforts have not yet reached the breeding farm.
The staff of the Agriculture Bureau of Zhuozhou City responded to Jimu News reporters that starting from August 3rd, they have issued notices to various breeding enterprises, including fishing enterprises, on investigation and statistics, as well as the next steps of work arrangements. Enterprises are required to report to the village and township governments where they are located, and to collect animal remains in the factory area to the best of their ability. The Agriculture Bureau provides guidance on business and technical aspects, and also contacts professional companies to remove the bodies of sick and dead animals for professional harmless treatment.
"There are too many people affected by the disaster, and we are all dealing with sick and dead cattle and sheep overnight, unable to provide assistance in person," said the above-mentioned staff.
